IVF appointment - can I go alone?

Me & DH went to the GP a few months ago about infertility - we both had tests that came back showing no issues so were told to keep trying & come back if I still didn't conceive - it's now at that point.

We have a GP appointment tomorrow but DH has just found out he's got to go somewhere for work & can't come, ggrrrr!!

Can I go on my own and ask about IVF? Will the GP think it's odd we're not both there? We just want to get the process moving, DH is completely with me on it he just can't get to the appointment tomorrow so is it worth me still going alone?

I think it will be fine. The doctor is unlikely to do anything other than refer you to a consultant or possibly order a few tests. There's no real need for DH to be there.

I went to all appointments bar egg collection on my own. I'd have liked the company but it wasn't a problem that dH couldn't come with me. Good luck.

I was the same as BorisIsBack - my partner came to the egg collection and one initial appointment at the hospital and that was all. It was never a problem - to be honest it would probably have been more nerve-wracking if he was there!!! ;-) Hope the appointment is useful for you.
