Hi Guys,

I thought I would share my story so far with you. My husband and I have been struggling with infertility for 2 years now. I was diagnosed with endometriosis and a chocolate cyst last January and had it removed by laparoscopy in May. We were advised to try for a further 6 months and if nothing we would be referred to the infertility clinic. We attended last month and the specialist informed me that my Fsh was quite high for a woman of 28 so she wanted to test my AMH but also said that the best route would probably be IVF and we are due back for an appointment tomorrow afternoon. I got my AMH result back via the Dr's surgery at New Year and it is very low - the figure is <2. We did a lot of research and much of what we found was pointing to the likelihood of donor eggs being required for a good chance of conception. My sister has kindly said that she would donate some of her eggs to me which was a big weight off my mind as it would mean the baby would be genetically related and there would be no wait for a donor to come forward. We have also been to a seminar given by the IVF centre which said although there is no cut off for low AMH and using your own eggs, that a donor would give us a much better chance of success. Well at the end of this long story I was late for my period on Thursday and thought I would just take a test 'just in case' and it came up positive! I have since taken a lot more tests and the line is growing stronger by the day. I have also visited my GP for a blood test as I have had some brown spotting and am waiting for the results to come back tomorrow. I have had spotting every month since I came off the contraceptive 2 years ago so this is not unusual. I am still very worried of course and know that lots can go wrong.

I wish you all luck in this new year and really hope that this pregnancy will be a success. Thank you for all the support that everyone has shown to me throughout the journey so far. Xx

See I wouldn't say a word to him, get advice, let a solicitors letter pop on the Mat for him and let him wonder what you have found exactly as I imagine it's the tip of the iceberg.....
