Who prescribed the clomid and why was it prescribed?. I ask this as it is usually given to women who present with problems relating to ovulation.

Unexplained means they have simply failed to find out what is wrong; it is sometimes a "diagnosis" given to couples when they as a couple have not been adequately investigated. What tests have been done on both of you to date?.

it was prescribed from our fertility clinic at local hospital they wasnt sure i was ovulating every month or they was just missing it on blood test, had sperm test, ultrasound, hyfosy which all came back good so did 6months on clomid 50mg didnt work so had a break now starting it again x

A single semen analysis is simply not enough. Any test done over 6 months ago should be discounted, you both need up to date test results.

Are you being monitored whilst on clomid and are on an increased dosage?. You should be because you have no way of knowing whether its doing its job otherwise (clomid's main role is to make the ovaries work harder).

They should also now be looking at other treatment options as clomid has not worked after 6 months.

no not being monitored, i am going to ring to see if they will do a scan once started the clomid again, it hasn't been put up on 50mg again same as last time.
He said that if the clomid doesn't work this time then we would have to got for IVF but privately as i already have 2 children x

I would certainly speak to them about being monitored. No monitoring is unacceptable.

I would also look into getting a second opinion particularly as you do not have any diagnosis either. It could well be that this clinic really do not know what to do with you hence trying the clomid yet again. Its a massive jump between clomid and IVF.

he said it was because they wasn't sure i am ovulating every month, i was having bloods done every 3 days and my levels were going up but when i went again they were going down, wasn't sure if i had or they had missed.
I have been doing ovulation tests at home, i ovulated last month but not this month according to the clear blue digital

Would refrain from using any such kit at all whilst on clomid as this drug encourages more LH to be produced. The kit may well just read that instead thus giving you a false positive result.

Blood tests are usually done on day 3 (sometimes day 10) and day 21 of the menstrual cycle. If periods are irregular, such tests can be done according to calendar days.

I would look into getting a second opinion.
