I'm 35, DH is 30. We have 2 DC who were conceived very quickly. I fell pregnant last year first try and had an early miscarriage. The same thing happened in January of this year, pregnant first try then mc. We have now been trying for 7 months and nothing....

I've had my progesterone tested at the doctors and I'm ovulating but she says they won't do any more tests until we've been trying for 18 months.

I'm terrified that the d&c from my last mc has affected my fertility and I'm sad that they won't investigate this until 18 months have passed.

Would you consider going private? Sadly because you have children the nhs wouldn't fund any fertility treatment and I think they would only do what you've had done. You could possibly go down the route of saying that your periods are all up the wall and could be damage caused from the d&c-this wouldn't be a fertility issue then if that makes sense and maybe they could send you for an X-ray on your tubes. Money is v tight for this area though.
Feel for what you are going through, having been a serial ivf'er thanksthanks

When I couldn't get pregnant a second time my GP made it quite clear that there was no NHS funding for investigation or treatment. In my area funding is restricted to those who haven't had a child. I really empathise with you.

Oh dear, that's not good news.. Have either of you had any luck ttc yet?

I suppose I'm more concerned that the D&C has caused problems. If I knew that it hadn't and it was just taking longer due to age I could cope with that and persevere.

I'm worried we're trying and it's not going to happen because of internal scarring or adhesions.

Palenta I was one of the "lucky" ones. 10 ivf goes resulted in two beautiful babies. One is now 10 and the other is 4. Because we didn't wait for our nhs go and had a private attempt while we waited for our first nhs appt our first go only went and worked!! I think the clinic were more surprised than us as I only had 2 follicles and their minimum is 3 so wanted to stop treatment. Two years later we tried again and ended up going to go no 10 before we got another baby. Lost all nhs funding because the first go worked
Can't believe we did all of that and as a result of all the drugs I've gone into the menopause at 44.
Even after all these years I've never come to terms with it all and prob should have counselling but we all have our cross to bearsad
Fingers crossed you get what u want

It took five years but I did go on to have another baby.
