Next step after Clomid...

Hi there -

A little bit of background: I'm approaching 35, 1 DS conceived naturally after a year, born Nov 2012. TTC no2 since Nov 2013. Tests have shown no probs with DH, but my levels of various hormones aren't great. Not terrible, but not great either - in summary my ovaries are a bit geriatric for my age!

Was prescribed Clomid a few months ago (was living abroad and it was easy through the private doctors there). 2nd round has just failed. Have heard it mentioned that you shouldn't do more than 6 x clomid, is that right?

Anyway, so despite my previous claims that I wouldn't want to go down fertility treatment route, it looks like I might be approaching that. Well, we are talking about it at least.
So I'd love to hear from others what they did after Clomid... iUI? Any recommendations for london clinics that specialise in this?

I had 6 rounds of Clomid as that's all they'll let you have. As it didn't work, I then had to go through the pre-checks again (bloods, scans, etc) for IVF.

I had mine through Oxford Fertility Unit and they were really good. As our first go didn't work they said I should have ICSI for the second go which did the trick.

I was prescribed 8 months of Clomid (conceived on month 5). I know people who have had many more than this, but I've also heard that 6 months is all you should have.

Thanks both. I have a consultant appointment at a new clinic on Monday, so I will clarify then...
