Prep for IVF and anyone trying to lose weight for IVF?!

After a long journey, mixed on NHS and private, DH will be having his PESA/TESE in August.
That gives me just over two months to prepare for IVF - is there anything I should be doing?
I know I need to lose some weight and lower my BMI (low carb seems to work due to PCOS).

Anyone in the same boat or have any advice? smile

only advice i can give - drink plenty of water and eat healthy (high protein and low carb diet)

ive started taking protein shakes also (but be careful not all protein shakes are good)

hope this helps x

Hi, I am also trying to lose weight (generally, we don't have any treatment planned as we are just at the beginning of our journey). If you have a good diet - with the low carb I would try and exercise as well.

See if you can get an exercise routine sorted out now so that you can continue it during treatment. I'm not sure if that's actually doable during treatment but I suppose doing some exercise now can't be a bad thing!

I'm also trying to lose weight for treatment, although fairly new to this it seems sure we will need Ivf.

I'm doing slimming world and have lose 10 1/2 pounds in three weeks.

Thanks everyone smile

Well done Lugo that's awesome!

Aussie - do you have any recommendations for protein shakes?

I do yoga classes twice a week, try and do more at home if can and walk lots as part of my commute (plus up a big hill!). It's food that has always been my issue and know I have to stay on track these next 2-3months to get in the best possible position smile

Hi Yogasuz. I've done weightwatchers several times over the years - initially to lose a lot of weight and a couple of other times just to get rid of a bit of weight when it started creeping up again. I've just signed up for myfitnesspal on the recommendation of a friend who's lost quite a bit of weight. I'm pretty impressed so far and it tracks the amount of carbs/protein you're eating as well so from my pov adds another factor to the slimming world/weightwatchers approach.
