Has anyone else had random bleeding pre af?

Hi ladies, me and dh have been ttc 2 years so I know my cycles well now and track ovulation etc. My cycles range from 26-32 days and always have a 14day lp. For the last 7 months (except one) I have had a random day of bright red blood with no cramps a few days before af is due, around 11/12dpo. Its only ever enough for one tampon then the next one comes out clean. I get 2 days of completely nothing, no brown spotting or anything before af arrives on time with all associated cramps and approx 3 days bleed.

The first time I had it I got excited thinking it was implantation. But I soon learned it couldn't have been!

I'm due to start iui soon and I'm a bit concerned about the day1 aspect of it. I've never classed the random bleed as cd1. I've mentioned it to nurse and doctor and they are baffled. Nurse said to count sporting as cd1 but I don't accept that.

Anyone had similar experiences?

Really sorry I cannot help with your specific query, but I do often spot and I've always been told/read that CD1 should be the first day of full flow which is often your heaviest. So, I also would question the nurse who said to count spotting as CD1.
Hope someone comes to answer your main query soon.

Is there anyone with endo who has had this? Could I have that? I get really bad period pain for up to a week with back ache too.

I had endo and my only symptoms (apart from infertility) were brown bleeding mid cycle plus I felt really ill and nauseus from that point until af. No one even considered that endo was the issue because I had normal bleeding, not much pain and no pain during sex. I found out I had completely by chance during a detailed ultrasound to look at a potential issue with my c section scarring. I think it's worth talking to your consultant about it. The only way to get a clear diagnosis is via a laporoscopy but some very skilled consultant gynaecologists with expertise in radiology/scans can see indications of it on a trans vaginally scan. I had to pay privately for mine and can recommend someone in London if that would help.

I had pre Af spotting and b complex got rid of it. Might be worth a try?

I came off the pill last December while being on it for nine years, I have spotting a few days before my period, some months are worse than others, I have been taking seven seas trying for a baby for four months, last month it was not to bad , I have taken Tesco vitamin b complex this month and it's much worse, I don't know if I keep on trying it will maybe get better in time, I have booked for an appointment with my doctor as I am getting really anxious that this is making trying to conceive a problem

The fertility nurse suggested I might have endo coz of the amount of pain I experience around af. After my hsg showed my tubes were not blocked I mentioned the ?endo to my consultant. She said if its not blocking my tubes then it woukdnt be part of our infertility and I needed no more investigations into it.

Victoria that sounds good news that its not blocking your tubes, so what have you to do now?

Good news re your tubes but it's not right to say that endo causes infertility only if it impacts on your tubes. My tubes were clear but the endo has caused one ovary to be stuck down and a huge amount of inflammation generally which causes a hostile environment conception wise . There is really good info online re endo and fertility if you want to look into it further.

The nurse said I might need a lap to see what was going on but the doc said no need. I guess they know what they're talking about....?!

Our next step is trying iui. We have 3 rounds on the NHS.

Least they have not sent you away without any further proceedings, hoping the iui works the first time Victoria xx

Ok. I would keep it in mind though. My fertility clinic don't look for it routinely either and I got my diagnosis by default. I fell pg the cycle straight after my lap. Good luck
