HSG/Lap Nightmare - Help Please

Hi All,

I have been on a bit of a break as things were put on hold for health reasons once again and I needed to sort things a bit in my head. During this break, the clinic felt it was a great opportunity to have a laparoscopy performed (check for adhesions left behind from previous surgeries, check for endo, etc) and while in there have another HSG performed to try and find the cause for my blocked tube.
I had the procedure done on the 6th of this month, everything seems to have gone well, but I noticed after the procedure it burned to wee for a few hours afterwards. They informed me this is often common after having a catheter in place. Within a few hours of going home, I noticed I started to itch heavily down there as well, not like a yeast infection type of itch, but an annoying itch only where the wee leaves. When the doctor called later that evening I informed him of this and he said if things did not clear up I would need to come in so they could perform some tests. Well things did clear up itch wise and burn a few days later so I thought nothing of it. A few days later after my abdominal pain vanished, I noticed I was frequently using the bathroom to wee and my bladder was starting to badly hurt so I phoned the emergency number for the surgery place (15th) and was put on one time dose antibiotics for a UTI. Things started to improve in the following days, but then the itchiness returned (so I treated it like a yeast infection and medicated myself, with no improvement), and by this past Wednesday it feels like I have to constantly pee and like I have not fully emptied my bladder and now my back is really hurting, I can barely lean forward it is so bad. It does not burn while I pee, but burns prior to it. I am also getting some sharp like shocks in my bladder which at times go straight down my urethra.
I am going to go back to the doctor tomorrow, but I wanted to get some opinions here first. Does this sound like a UTI really or could they have given me some other type of bacterial issue?

Sorry I forgot to add, the surgery place had put me on Monuril and this past Friday I put myself on Cystinol which helped with a previous UTI back in Feb of this year.

Sorry to hear you are feeling like this, but it sounds like a uti to me.

I was doubled up in pain when I had a uti I had to constantly hold my hand down there like I was stopping myself from seeing if that makes sense

Yeah, it makes sense. :) I visited the doctor and he found me to have a very very mild UTI. I am sure that is only because by yesterday morning the urge, pain and frequency was barely there.
I am worried about the itching though. That does not seem to be going away. :/
