Great news London. grin I feel like shite mentally atmo so just posting so I don't lose u allconfused

LondonSuperTrooper Wed 13-Aug-14 09:25:02

Thanks Kurama...... The challenge is to get pregnant first and that's another story!

I'm sorry that you are feeling down. I'm the same and it's cyclical. You have good days and the bad. Just hang in there. Is there anything that you can do to try and take your mind off TTC? Like taking up a new sport or hobby?

I'm feeling a little relaxed over this TTC business because I'm trying to focus on losing weight & exercising. I'm attempting to walk in the evening after work 2-3 times a week.

Hope you feel better soon.

Hi all,

It's been 5 weeks since I was last on here but I just wanted to say STAY POSITIVE girls, Clomid does work as yesterday I got my BFP!! Faint line at first but even darker today! Whoopppp!

Obviously it's early days and a lot can go wrong in early pregnancy but it's such a relief to know that the drugs do work!

Good luck to you all and hope you get your BFP soon! X

LondonSuperTrooper Thu 14-Aug-14 05:07:36

Wow congratulations Blondie. It's great to know that the drugs work smile

Good luck with your pregnancy and take it easy.

Can I join in? We've been TTC for just under 2 years (MAN that seems unreal). I have mild PCOS, DH has issues with abnormally shaped sperm. I'm on my third cycle of clomid - I was supposed to start a month before, but I broke my leg and dragging my sorry butt to the hospital to go for scans was impossible, so we took a break. We have an appointment next week to see our specialist, and see what next steps to take. We were so hopeful about clomid. The first month it definitely made a difference - it was crazy. I went to the hospital for my scan, there was a beautiful follicle right there, they found that I was ovulating already (I had done a test that morning - negative. Did a test at the hospital - positive. Retried at home - negative. Next day - positive. Weird), so gave me a trigger shot and off I was sent with oestrogen and progesterone tablets for the luteal phase. But nothing. Second month - no tracking, but I definitely ovulated. But unsuccessful again. We'll see what happens this month, but if nothing happens we're going to move onto another treatment.

It's just so difficult, getting our hopes up, and then boom. Nothing.

Hi all, can I join too? Been TTC less than a year but knew something was wrong with a very short luteal phase, so with the help of an extremely proactive GP I got a swift referral to a fertility clinic and have just been prescribed Clomid after diagnosis of polycystic ovaries (which I always had a gut feeling was the problem, despite not having the symptoms). Unfortunately I also think I may also have endometriosis, which my consultant does not seem interested in investigating at the moment hmm. I am not getting my hopes up about Clomid, but I am glad to be doing something. My greatest worries are a) overstimulation b) Clomid doing absolutely bloody nothing for my luteal phase c) dried up CM, when mine is already pretty crap to begin with. I am really hoping I can counteract this with my usual acupuncture appointments.

Congrats blondiegrin I think I'm just going through a bad patch at mo . This is 6th and prob last month of clomid, waiting for app for hosp fertility guy. Just feeling hopeless again. Hopefully I'll be back on form soon smile

Thanks for the welcome! Just on cd7 and took my clomid 2-6. Suffering from headaches but hoping it's not clomid related.

My health has changed so much since taking clomid two years ago. This past year after the birth of my daughter I've lost 5 stone. BMI is now in healthy range so that saved me the talk at my appointment. Last time it was the elephant in the room every appointment.

The only thing that seems the same is that I've been so tired this week. I remember being tired last time but the added headache isn't helping much. Oh well the first part is over and I'm just going to have a restful weekend in the wake of EOD BD fest.

ToAvoidConversation Fri 15-Aug-14 16:21:22

Congrats London. Did you just stare at the BFP in disbelief?? How many tests did you do?

So far I've seen my baby's heartbeat and developed hypermesis meaning a stay in hospital earlier in the week. Was feeling so guilty for not enjoying pregnancy after so long TTC and basically ruining my body but am now on lots of anti sickness meds and have only been sick once today!

LondonSuperTrooper Fri 15-Aug-14 16:51:40

Photo that's an impressive weight loss! Please can you tell me how you manged to lose so much? I need to lose weight for IVF and I'm struggling a bit....... And I'm taking steroids in my next cycle- one of side affects is weight gain and increase in hunger! I'm dreading taking the tablets already sad

Kurama - how are you feeling today? Hopefully it's a good day emotionally. I'm like you, emotions are up and down like a blooming yo yo!

To avoid - good news! You must be feeling so good today.

ToAvoidConversation Fri 15-Aug-14 16:53:36

Ah sorry think I've made a mistake there, I believe it's congrats Blondie

photographerlady Fri 15-Aug-14 19:34:39

london with my first daughter I was put on a low carb diet to help with fertility. They said low GI but my fertility specialist just said to look up keto diets which is low carb, no sugar, high healthy fats. So I eat a lot of green veg, olive oil, butter, unprocessed meats and eggs. Started back when my daughter was 4 months and 7 months later I'm now five stone lighter. It also helps with my PCOS as my last few scans are cyst free.

I've always been heavy but four years of IVF and then clomid as a last resort (when I became pregnant) made me balloon.

Other news called GP about the eye pain and headaches. Now that I took my last pill I could be ok. He did say if I would of called earlier in the week he would have made me stop my clomid as eye issues are a bad side effect. I'm still hoping it's unrelated.

Firsttimer9981 Sat 16-Aug-14 08:49:18

I haven't commented for a while as I've been feeling so low about the whole process, but I just wanted to let you all know that I got my BFP this morning! I felt like I'd pretty much given up this month and as a result I relaxed about it a bit (ie not doing ovulation tests and not following the SMEP)...something must have worked though!

ToAvoidConversation Sat 16-Aug-14 08:51:02

Wow congratulations!! Another BFP! How are you feeling?

Firsttimer9981 Sat 16-Aug-14 09:03:36

Physically fine, although I've been desperate for hot chocolate this week and I don't usually like it at all! I'm still in disbelief though, I think I'll be testing every day for a while!

Does anyone know if clomid patients have an early scan for multiples?

ToAvoidConversation Sat 16-Aug-14 12:21:33

Yes at my clinic you do. Around the 7 week mark. Mines is just a single!

StoneBaby Sat 16-Aug-14 17:15:09

Congratulations to all BFP.

I'm cd 24 today and started spotting and cramping. Could it be implantation with cramps? I'm confused and feeling down at the thought that it may be af been early

LondonSuperTrooper Sun 17-Aug-14 09:50:03

Wow another BFP!! Congratulations smile

Ridgeway, sorry that you are feeling so emotional. Really not sure what your day 21 results mean. My day 21 blood test was 26 - but this was without any drugs.

I've contacted the fertility nurse & was told that I can't start Tamixfon this cycle as I MUST be monitored in my first cycle sad

ToAvoidConversation Sun 17-Aug-14 11:00:33

Firsttimer I would advise eating what you want and getting calories on board, also get hydrated, before the sickness kicks in. Hopefully you won't get it as bad as me but it's bloody hard. Enjoy eating while it lasts!

StoneBaby Sun 17-Aug-14 18:28:42

AF has turned up on cd 25!!! Shortest cycle ever!
