Help! Just been told we will need IVF. Kind of freaking out!

Had first FC appointment this week and our consultant says that it's highly unlikely we will get PG naturally and will need ICSI.

A lot to take in, mixed feelings galore! Happy that we have a plan but so sad that it won't happen naturally for us, angry that my body is crap and stressed about the whole idea of IVF!

Would really appreciate any advice, experiences and hand-holding smile

Have just registered on here on behalf of my daughter who has been trying for a baby for 6 years (she is 30, married to a 30 year old, neither have ever had children) had all the tests, she isn't ovulating. IVF is on the cards. Not sure where all you ladies are from but here in oxford, cut off for IVF is 34 and only one cycle. Not fair in my opinion.

Phoeb - sorry to hear about your dd - but least she gets a chance of nhs (free) ivf and she has 4yr till cut off point of 34

She's still young smile

That's good smile

Docs may try a 6mth course of clomid

Hope you have good results (unlike me) and then forward planning for the future

You prob won't feel like updating tonight so catch up tomorrow x

Hiya Blonde, day after my op now, what a weird experience!!!!

MrsCakesPremonition Fri 11-Oct-13 09:23:04

How are you doing Bunny? Not too uncomfy, I hope.

Blondeshavemorefun Fri 11-Oct-13 09:38:37

Bless ya bunny. Why weird and hope all went well and no bad news

Take it easy and rem no bending down

Played crazy golf at weekend with dp and bending to get the ball out I the hole did twinge a bit even after 10days - so made dp keep getting the ball grin

NoComet Fri 11-Oct-13 09:41:35

DF has teen ICSI twins and two younger DCs one ICI and one naturally conceived after more than 10 years of not being careful.

Bunnygirlie Fri 11-Oct-13 15:43:32

Still sore and very swollen tum from the gas but guess that will improve in a few days.

Just a very weird experience as never had a general before!

Thanks for asking smile

Blondeshavemorefun Fri 11-Oct-13 16:46:52

what did op show? good/bad news?

the gas will subside (or with me it did) but as i said the lower cut was the worst for me

Bunnygirlie Fri 11-Oct-13 17:31:34

Doctor said my tubes are fine, cleared away some endo and unstuck one ovary. She says I may be more fertile for a few months but still on ivf list.

Now I have to think positive!

MrsCakesPremonition Fri 11-Oct-13 17:33:19

That is really positive news Bunny. Have a nice brew of mint tea to celebrate.

Bunnygirlie Fri 11-Oct-13 18:21:41

Thanks mrs just had a shower and changed my dressings, yucky stitches!

Will try a mint tea now smile

Blondeshavemorefun Fri 11-Oct-13 20:29:03

Blondeshavemorefun Sat 12-Oct-13 17:13:51

im still waiting for my 6 week check up app, and been 2 weeks, ie need it in the post for the next month or so

tmi but gonna have serious shagging tom/mon/tue as that's my fertile period and although have been told wont conceive without ivf, I have heard the month after a lap/dye that many people do get preg

maybe the flushing of tubes etc helps ......

if not then lucky dp smile

Bunnygirlie Sat 12-Oct-13 17:18:03

That's what I was told too! Hoping to feel up to it next weekend for my fertile week grin

Have fun!!!

Hi Blondes and Bunnygirl

Not that it worked for me but the nurse even told me that after I had my hysterosalpingogram upto 3 months after the procedure your likelyhood of getting pregnant is more, its the flushing out of the tubes!

I got my AF yesterday so that was my last cycle of clomid, IVF is the next step for us too.

Blondeshavemorefun Mon 14-Oct-13 17:06:06

sad anroga - hope ivf works for you but sucks clomid didnt

Bunnygirlie Mon 14-Oct-13 17:17:34

Fingers crossed that something works for us all very soon!!!

Bunnygirlie Thu 17-Oct-13 22:09:07

blonde how you getting on?

1 week on for me and taken the dressings off, yucky stitches look horrid! So worried about catching the wounds now they have no protection!
