A supportive and slightly fluffy thread for those dealing with the issues of ttc longterm, whether with assisted fertility or not.

delilahbelle Tue 26-Feb-13 15:46:47

Pregnancy all over, I suffered a uterine rupture, lots of pain and v dramatic rush into surgery. Full story on other threads if u are interested you can search my user name.

I will be getting physically fit for the next few months, and then me and DH are going to reassess our options, whether adoption, fostering, or living childfree.

Life is fairly crap right now but I'm determined to stay positive.

pinkapples Tue 26-Feb-13 16:40:21

Sorry to hear that Delilah but good that your sounding very positive x

waitingtobeamummy Tue 26-Feb-13 17:51:20

So sorry delilah. After everything you've been through you need to look after yourself. I went to the dr today, they've diagnosed depression and trying to get counselling. Might be something for you to look at?
When you are ready we should set up a doom/gloom adoption thread smile
Take care of yourself. Thinking of you both.

Dannygirl Tue 26-Feb-13 22:04:17

Oh god I am so so sorry to hear that Delilah I have been lurking on this thread for some time. There are no really is sometimes absolutely rubbish. Take care of yourself xx

Dusty27 Tue 26-Feb-13 22:30:41

I don't really know what to say Delilah. Take good care of yourself. Keeping you & your DH in my thoughts x

delilahbelle Wed 27-Feb-13 12:08:22

Home from hospital, physical recovery continues to go well.

Really makes you appreciate the NHS.

Lots of thinking to do - waiting that adoption thread is definitely a possibility, but in the short and medium term I'm going to focus on getting my physical and emotional health back to 100%

delilahbelle Thu 28-Feb-13 17:50:40

Well I'm recovering slowly. Final diagnosis is ruptured cornual ectopic. I can get pregnant again (if I want) but it would be high risk and I would need extra monitoring and to deliver early by c-section. I must also only go for sET as twins are most definitely even higher risk. How long I need to wait is a matter of opinion - the doctor said 3 cycles, others recommend 6 months, and I've not spoken to my IVF consultant yet, I have a telephone appointment next week.
We have 2 frozen embryos so may well use these in the autumn/winter if possible for a FET. I don't know though.

I might phone the NHS counsellor. We shall see, at the moment I'm not too bad emotionally, but I expect that will change.

pinkapples Thu 28-Feb-13 18:06:06

Hey Delilah glad your recovering well and it is good news that you have a slight plan Like you say you might as well use what you have an take it from there...
We're all here for you when you need us x

HavingALittleFaithBaby Thu 28-Feb-13 18:17:09

I'm glad your physical recovery is going well Delilah. I guess it's helpful to have a diagnosis to inform your future choices but now isn't the time to try to work that out. You might find things harder emotionally when you're not concentrating on the physical recovery but it sounds like you're prepared for that possibility. Have some thanks

delilahbelle Thu 28-Feb-13 18:21:52

Think I've got oral thrush too, probably as I'm now very anemic (on iron tablets) and have been breathing through my mouth as my nose was dried out and blocked from being on oxygen.

Miserable. Have just gargled with some apple cider vinegar and sent DH out for natural live yogurt to eat. Doctor's tomorrow if I can get an appointment.

pinkapples Thu 28-Feb-13 19:18:24

Hope dh gets you some goodies Delilah

On another note and something that hopefully will make you chuckle I've just had a very stupid moment...

Have been quite sick today so was sent home from work at 4.30 walked the dogs as got in at 6pm. Was think I would have a bath before dh gets in at about 6.45pm so went upstairs and ran the bath. Was sitting on the toilet and decided that I was due a bit of a trim (tmi in the nether regions) so proceeded to trim and as I can no longer see myself for bump clearly felt in the wrong place and tmi.. Cut a lip!!! confusedconfused And I don't mean my face! shockshockconfusedconfused

pink that made me lol. I would have just cultivated the hair! Having not shaved my legs since Saturday (and really not got the energy) I'm starting to look like a wild woman.

Doctor's appointment later. Will need to cancel my scan and booking in appointment too sad

bunnygoesbang Fri 01-Mar-13 14:16:52

Delilah won't the hospital have done that for you. It should be automatically done by them in situations like yours

delilahbelle Fri 01-Mar-13 14:44:10

Been to the doctor. He will cancel the 12 week scan. I've cancelled my booking in appointment. I've got a blood test in 3 weeks to measure my iron levels.

And that's it really. All I have to do now is get better. Had a few more tears with DH. There was a couple of tiny babies in the doctors waiting room which were really hard to see.

Dusty27 Sat 02-Mar-13 05:21:44

Haha pink I did a similar thing years ago, foot slipped on the edge of the bath! Didn't laugh at the time mind!

Delilah I wouldnt worry about your legs, I haven't shaved mine in a month! Can't be bothered!! Keep taking it easy. Your bound to be tearful with all this happening, I don't think it's a bad thing, part of the grieving process.

I'm tearful myself lately. Can't wait for & also dreading Monday. Scared of the results but also hate waiting. My Mum is on holiday as well & won't be able to talk to her after Drs.

delilahbelle Sun 03-Mar-13 12:33:45

Dusty good luck for tomorrow, let us know how you get on.

I managed to shave one of my legs today, just didn't have enough energy to do both. Maybe tomorrow... I feel physically a lot better, but get very headachey if I try to do too much.

Just climbed on the scales, I've lost 5kg since last week. I haven't been this light since my wedding. Guess I can have a few guilt free takeaways smile

Flixy102 Sun 03-Mar-13 17:16:20

Good luck for tomorrow dusty, the hut is here if u need to talk! I've also been a bit tearful all weekend, think my hormones are all over the place! sad

Delilah, at least u have one fuzz free leg, it's more than I have! Bit lacking in that dept at the moment. Glad to hear your feeling physically a bit better, keep being very good to yourself.

Going to ring my docs secretary tomorrow and enquire when I'll be getting my appointment for my HSG. That's all we need to do before we can go back to see her and hopefully get started on clomid.

Hope the test of the hut is having a good weekend.

pinkapples Sun 03-Mar-13 17:41:35

Let us know how it goes dusty

I've spent a fortune this weekend including 2,000 on a new bed and mattress! To be fair it is the most amazing thing I've ever lay on and it's being delivered tomorrow so hubby has the joy of building it we've also gone up a size from a double to a king woohoo gringringrin

delilahbelle Mon 04-Mar-13 11:26:26

Today I am mainly feeling exhausted. Thank god for moonpig - I have from my bed sorted out Mother's Day cards/flowers, a new baby card for a relative, and a new home card for a friend. I plan to spend most of today lying down and napping.

How's everyone else doing?

pumpkinsweetie Mon 04-Mar-13 17:22:41

I'm ttc as of yet, but hope to in the future and maybe join you on this/similar thread thanks

pumpkinsweetie Mon 04-Mar-13 17:23:09

I'm not ttc as of yet-silly phone

Dusty27 Mon 04-Mar-13 17:47:11

Great news, my hormones all came back normal! So relieved. The GP is sorting a pelvic ultrasound as well & then if nothing by July (12 months ttc) then we'll look again at a specialist. I was so convinced it would be bad news but so far so good. Just gotta get hubby to do his semen testnow.

Isn't the internet a wonderful thing Delilah perfect for when you cab! Keep resting up & don't push yourself x

Did you get the date sorted Flixy x

Right off to chillout & order a takeaway. I've got 9 days off work so gonna relax & have some me time.

Thanks for all the good wishes, definitely worked (smile)

Flixy102 Mon 04-Mar-13 18:36:33

That's brill dusty!!! And 9 days off, u lucky thing! smile

I've to get a prescription for provera firstly to bring on a bleed before I can get the HSG. The secretary was so lovely and said she didn't understand why this hadn't already been sorted. So hopefully in the next few weeks I can get that done.

pinkapples Mon 04-Mar-13 21:50:39

Awww good news then dusty grin enjoy your 9 days off

Dusty27 Mon 04-Mar-13 23:05:14

Thanks gals. I've pretty much worked everyday this year so definitely need some down time. I'm on day 2 of my period so once that's finished we can start trying again. It'll be so good to actually feel like there is hope for the 1st time in months.

Glad you chased them up Flixy, it's always good when you feel like things are moving forward.

Hope you enjoy your 1st night in the new bed pink! We desperately need a new mattress.
