Not exactly infertile but it feels like it and I don't really fit in anywhere else! I've had 3 miscarriages and 2 ectopics in just over two years and now have recieved a referral to the infertility clinic at my local hospital but not really sure what to expect.

Any help is very much appreciated smile

Hi amo, welcome to mumsnet. This is a new topic so will be quite quiet for a while. Do you have any dc's already? I've had 1 ep 5 years ago, and 13 mcs in 6 years.

I like the idea of it being a little quieter at first - I been reading and occasionally posting for a couple of years now but it's so hard to keep up! Maybe if I'm eased in gently I'll learn.

I've got a DD who's coming up 14 from a previous relationship - have you got any DC's? I can't imagine going through so many mcs, I'm sorry sad

Have you ever had any investigations into your mcs or ep can you give me any insight as to what I can expect or should ask?

Its lissie, I've namechanged.

I have one ds, he is 6.5. I've had every test that my pct does, pretty sure the problem is immune (I had a nasty uterine infection when ds was born, it wasn't picked up for ages) but all other tests came back ok. They will probably do a hsg to checkj your pipes, and maybe ask for a hysteroscopy too. How were your ep's treated?

Hello can I join, lovely to find a safe haven away from threads from people wanting to guarantee a girl etc. It drives me so mad, I will be glad of a baby whatever sex! We have been trying for 20 months now. Got pcos and mild endo had ovarian drilling and endo zapped in jan but that didn't work so had first dose of clomid this month although consultant wasn't sure the 50mg dose was going to be enough at the scan so already been told to take 100mg next month.
Sorry to hear about your ladies miscarriages, I can't imagine how hard that must be. My mum had so many then gave up trying and then had twins-hope it works out for you ladies.

amo sorry to hear of your losses. If they do offer a Hsg I've not long had one so can offer all the gory details give advice! They'll probably so further bloods too. Has DH/P had his swimmers checked?
Howdy florin.

Thank you for all your imputs and Florin - of course you can join in!! - I can relate to you - a baby who cares what sex it is grin

We've had no tests as yet but was told by one doctor that I may possibly have pcos - but only because I'm so bloody hairy blush and that was before the eps.

My first ep was treated with key hole surgery and I lost a tube in the process but the second was treated with one dose of methotrexate.

My GP advised us to stop trying until we'd seen the consultant and wouldn't do any further tests as he said it would be better if the experts choose what ones are required!

Ooh an infertility topic!

<tries on for size>

Welcome all. I'm here under false pretences really as have stopped trying - will review situ in new year.

Checking pipes sounds like a good idea Amo101 since you had the metho-whatsit for the 2nd ep. Good luck with the clinic.

Amo101 bad luck with the hairiness I am lucky to escape that although I do have the acne still at 28 which is really frustrating. Everyone thinks I am obsessed by putting on make up as never seen without it, I am so conscious of it though especially as I get older and now none of my friends suffer from it at all. Although Ovarian drilling did improve it.
I do find the whole sex thing really weird I can quite generally say I don't care if I have 2 boys 2 girls a girl and a boy all would be gratefully received. If only I could see those 2 blue lines!
When are you next seeing your consultant?
Schobe do you mind me asking why you have stopped trying? I have great admiration for you. For a whole financially it was looking dodgy but still just couldn't give up even if it would have made life really tricky. Luckily now everything a lot more settled and looks like I might even be able to give up work completely just need to get pregnant now. I really hate my job so would be a great! The baby would be pretty good too!

Florin - the hariness isn't too bad as I'm blonde and I also have acne but have been told it was teenage spots since I was 11 I'm now nearly 34!!

I have my first consultant appointment on Friday morning - we're seing the top one at my local hospital he also runs a private clinic so hopefully knows what he's talking about - I was a bit disappointed when I got the paperwork as it's all geared towards people who are totally infertile rather then someone who's been pregnant so it didn't really tell me much.

A HSG seems the obvious next step along but I have a few other issues that may need checking out too e.g Factor V Leiden and previous treatment for pre cancerous cells and a currently abnormal smear - I've had a coloscopy for this and they say I don't need treatment just a repeat test in December.

Just read this back and starting to wonder if I should just give up!! But I think I'm too stubborn!

Florin - my DS is only 3 but he has communication difficulties which seem more and more severe as time passes. He is about to be assessed and I'm expecting a diagnosis of autism.

This is going to sound awful but, because of his needs, my life has gradually been completely taken over by it in the last year. I don't have much of a life any more so another baby is just another thing in a long list that I'm apparently not allowed (self-pity alert).

We realised that a new baby would be unfair on him, me, his dad and his older sister who already gets precious little attention.

I know I was being greedy anyway having already had 2 DC. I'm trying to be grown up about it.

But it is shit. Sorry, way tmi but cathartic to get it out!

Hey all

I have had 3 cycles of IVF, and 3 chemical pregnancies (2 following IVF, 1 spontaneous miracle pregnancy)

My insides are fucked - I am missing one tube and the other, although not blocked is a mess, all down to undiagnosed PID, and the clean up after that sad DH has motility problems too, and I also don't respond very well to IVF drugs.

We are going for a FET soonish, and if that doesn't work (and I'm honestly not expecting it to) we are thinking about adoption. We will become parents one way or another!

Hi all

Well my appointment was all a bit wierd! DH was given a pot for a sample - I had some swaps taken and an internal hmm I was also given a blood test form to have blood on days 2-5 of AF and another test which I have to pay £45 for called an Antimullerian hormone - to check eggs! And a hsg form - I have to call on days 2-5 of AF and the appointment takes 2 to 3 months to come through! Looks like they'll be no baby making before Xmas for me then!

When I said I'd only had one AF since February the consultant said it'll come don't worry - that's easy for him to say! So yet again waiting for my body to do something that should be so simple but isn't angry - he said if all else fails then it's IVF but I'm still at the stage where I feel my body should be able to do this on its own!

Schobe - it's always good to get it out and tmi is never a bad thing!
Delilah - sorry it's not gone too well for you - don't give up hope
