You wonder how someone like the teaching assistant could get involved in such a thing. A married man , a father, I just cant understand it. Teenagers, yes, we were all idealistic and to various degrees passionate and even militant. I cant condone what the teenagers did but I can see how they might have got caught up in something and been manipulated or brainwashed but a 30 year old father I just cannot see. They all sound like normal people not extremists, thats why it is so worrying.

excellent bloke on five live this morning talking about brainwashing. he was a successful, intelligent businessman and went on a hypnotherapy course to stop smoking. AFter 4 days he ended up giving all his money to this cult that in then joined. Obviously an extreme example but he was talking about brainwashing techniques and how easily used they actually are.

I just feel deseparatly sorry for their parents. It's bad enough to have a child killed in such horrible circumstances, but then to find out that effectivly your child is a mass murderer and is vilified in the press. You wouldn't be even able to mourn in public. The poor, poor things.

That teaching assistant one is the most frightening of all.

I feel badly for the parents as well. I honestly don't think they had a scooby what was going on b/c in these indoctrination centres they teach the bombers how to appear normal so as not to arouse suspicion.

i am indeed hugely shocked by that background info - so very very normal... i think i even remember that article in the Times Ed where the teaching assistant was quoted.

I think they were told the bombs were set to go off later than they were. The mastermind of this whole thing didn't want the footsoldiers getting out alive and being able to say who he was.
