Rapist may be out in as little as 4 years

'A 16-year-old schoolboy who raped a teacher has been given a life sentence at the Old Bailey.

The judge told the youth that he had violated the teacher's classroom - her place of safety - and had left her "physically and mentally scarred".

He said he agreed with a doctor who said his behaviour suggested that he had planned or rehearsed the rape in a fantasy.

The youth, who had pleaded guilty to rape at an earlier hearing, will be eligible for parole after serving four-and-a-half years.

But he will not be released until doctors consider he is no longer a danger.

The teenager, from south London, was 15 when he attacked the 28-year-old teacher on her second day at a central London school in September last year.

Brendan Kelly, prosecuting, said the teacher was in her classroom when she was grabbed round her neck and pulled to the back of the room.

The court was told that the 5ft 11in, powerfully-built teenager head-butted and threatened to kill the woman as she fought him off.

But she was overpowered by the pupil and sexually assaulted. After the attack, the teacher ran naked to the headteacher's office.

Describing the impact of the assault on the victim, Mr Kelly said: "The effect of this attack upon her has been devastating.

"Since the incident she has been unable to teach. She anticipates that once 'all this' has been put to bed she proposes to go back on a trial period - not to the school in question, she will go to another school.

"Her confidence has been devastated, her social life equally has been devastated. She lives in fear of returning to her vocation."

Judge Moss lifted a court order protecting the youth's identity but stayed this until Friday afternoon after the defence said it wanted the decision reviewed by the High Court.

He ordered that Westminster City Boys School, central London, where the teacher was attacked after working only two days in September last year, could be identified.

After the case, the teacher said: "I was very glad to be alive because I did not think I would be.

"I honestly thought that I was going to be murdered, on top of everything else."

She said she is now trying to rebuild her life. '

Make you feel all nice and safe, doesn't it?

he could be out in as little as four years. It makes me feel sick.

So basically the teacher gets a life sentence while the rapist gets out in just a few short years.

Not a surprise though really, the dirty perverted tossers are the main concern or courts - after all you wouldnt want to deprive them of the human rights ffs. Dirty filthy evil rapists should be shot.

castrations not good enough. They need to recieve abit of what they give first, then tourtured slowly, for a long time until they completely lose there mings and kept in a little tiny box for the rest of there days regually being beaten and tourtured and abused, fed small amounts of food with stuff in to make them have stomach apins like they wouldnt believe were possible. thats justice.

not good enough, a rapist will never be 'safe' never. they are evil and you cant just flick a switch to stop them being evil. They dont deserve to live.

But like i say you are a better person than me.

if i were the victim i would also want to know why she was being asked to teach someone who had prior cases of sexual violence. no-one should be placed in that situation without being informed of the risk and provided with protection. not the teacher or the other children in the class. disgraceful.

4 years is an insult
I often think they should get life but if a rapist knows that is the sentence, then there is little to stop them murdering their rape victims as well
I think they should have an R branded on their face, rather like cattle

I think you lot need to go into coirt a little

you re all sounding unhinged

Sounds as though this guy should have been nowhere near a classroom with his prior history. It's awful. But I think he needs treatment. For someone to have been so violent at such a young age (heard on the radio that it started at primary) I would hazard a guess that he suffered abuse as a child himself. I don't think you can write someone off at 16. But four years... that's not long enough and to be fair I don't think anyone was suggesting he would be freed at that stage without intensive treatment.

she should never have been placed in that position. no teacher should be asked to work with a child with a 'prior' for violence without being fully informed and supported.
