Ambitious, I think. People have got angry about all these things before without much impact. But, a stirring call to arms. Perhaps I'll write in about the Yates's pub in town that is advertising amateur pole dancing nights where lucky ladies can compete for a £50 bar tab.

i suddenly feel like I'm not alone!
Reading the comments under the article were not surprising though, deflecting the blame onto biological imperative or womens' desire to be desired... it's that tiresome response that she was talking about, and that fills me with despair.

like the idea that she didnt challnege him becuase he woudl snigger and say she was A0 jealous ( you still get this on here if you dare say JOrdan "isnt a great mum") or b) needing a " a good shag"

nice.

Excellent article

Maybe it won't work, but unlesspeople try then it's a given rather than a likelihood.

Well done Janice.

I'd like Janice to come on for a web chat. Great article. I had strong words with my brother the other day after he bought some pink kitten heeled wellies for my niece. She could barely walk FFS!

Ditto, go Janice. Have commented on the article too. Will be looking out for examples.

Great article, about time there was something highlighting this problem.

OH YES!! Web chat with Janice. Although she's not universally liked on here because she sometimes says it's quite nice to go to work (horror!!)

I am SO happy about this article - if it only makes it easier for one woman to call out a sexist comment and stand up to the "humourless" jibes, the world will be a better place.

GiantJenga Really? Am adding to my list I of boycotts, after Nandos because I used to have to walk past a sign on my way to work everyday that read "our hot birds give oral pleasure".

I hate the fact that 'lads mags' are at eye height. When I was with DD once a lad came over and picked one up (Nuts). DD, who was 5, piped up "Oh look he's going home to look at that lady's boobies".

He put it back.

I'm thinking of putting her beside them as a permanent deterrent.

i was made to feel a freak for complaining at our local marks fod garage thing that perhaps the naked be thonged arse on the front of the daily sport could be put out of the eye line of under 7s

they looked at me like this
saying they were told WHERE to put newspapers( ont eh forecourt this is not even in the shop) by stuart -rose-- some kind of poilcy

Veh good article, and I turn lads mags over too. I complained about the once in ASDA but was told it's not Asda's decision to put them there
