Possibly not at his own institution, Lenin? But what do I know? Maybe it's just great.

SardineQueen Wed 23-Sep-09 22:13:55

Where is Dittany? I haven't seen her for a little while.

Oh yes and bloke who wrote "hilarious" piece, what a cock.

SardineQueen Wed 23-Sep-09 22:15:10

Oh and hello Lenin, it's lovelytinofspam here, I have undergone a revamp due to scary nasty man on the other thread who made me lose the plot.

He's not exactly prof totty, bless him.

I imagine he is 'enjoying' the spectacle of nubile young womanhood in tight jeans & t-shirts, & I don't suppose he's alone there, but such notions should be kept to himself.

If I were Mrs Kealey, I'd be rapping him on the nose with a rolled-up newspaper.

He has a very out-dated idea of humour, at the very least...

MaggieBeauLeo Wed 23-Sep-09 22:25:04

Well he's not a perk for the female students.

Agree, his poor wife must be cringing.

MaggieBeauLeo Wed 23-Sep-09 22:26:56

Mmmm. His defence - only joking, m'lud. As a comedian, he's a great academic.

It's not that I don't see the joke [adjusts Millie Tant glasses] but his worldview permeates his writing, and his worldview comes through as aligned only along his cock and the cocks of those he would consider his peers.

Male scholars and female acolytes indeed.

I was a bit shock at his accusation that “I know of two girls... who got firsts ...from a south-coast university in exchange for favours to a professor" naming the year & subject - there can't be that many who fit that description.

SardineQueen Wed 23-Sep-09 22:35:30

smile I enjoyed your posts about people arguing for the sake of it rather than because it matters to them, and combative posting styles etc.

I really should have let it go though sad

Never mind eh!

Sorry for the hijack OP.

I don't like conflict but I get wound up very easily and obviously i always have to be right.

It has led for a really relaxing time here on MN [sigh]

I will do better in future... <repeats mantra>

NotanOtter Wed 23-Sep-09 23:20:17

edam Wed 23-Sep-09 23:29:51

Buckingham's a private university. Am pondering whether that's a factor - at least in his being so open about it.

weegiemum Wed 23-Sep-09 23:34:35

Flip I was at Uni in the eighties and we would have had a sit in and a burning (raving Women's society at Edinburgh!!!)

If I hadn't been so busy on "reclaim the night" marches!!

Oh for the political student era!!! It was fun!!!!

NotanOtter Wed 23-Sep-09 23:37:54

wasn't it!!

i would have staged a mass 'lie in' in his office
