assisted suicide - law clarified

news here

Think this is very hopeful although not a complete answer - will people still have to travel to Dignitas rather than get help over here?

But see the little video with Terry Pratchett talking about how he wants to go with a glass of brandy in his hand, sitting on his lawn 'or if wet, in the library'. Hope it works out for him - but not too soon and not before he's written a few new books!

I'm glad they've been pushed to clarify this - though I believe this is only the "interim" version, and a more full consultation is still in progress.

There's certainly no change in the law planned to let them do it here - but at least people will be able to travel with their loved ones to assist them, without having to wonder if they're likely to be prosecuted for it.

Yup, more consultation on the way.

Hope progress continues so people like TP can end it all in their own homes/gardens when it all gets too much.

Some of the guidelines seem reasonable enough
like not assisting several people, and that you have to know the person.
