Methinks that 23yr old has too much time on his hands?!
I know Bangor is not the most exciting place in the world, but a Jedi Church?!??

CrouchingTigerFeetHiddenBaby Fri 18-Sep-09 12:30:17

They will feel the Force

I think he has a valid point. If it is a requirement of his religion to wear a hood in public, why is it any funnier than Muslim women covering up?

mollyroger Fri 18-Sep-09 16:30:50

I have a horrid feeling I'm down on the last census as
religion - Jedi

It seemed like a good idea at the time....blush

TeamEdwardTango Fri 18-Sep-09 16:32:51

OldLady, it's a religion he has made up. He has made up the head covering rule, it's not a traditional religious requirement.

TeamEdwardTango Fri 18-Sep-09 16:34:11

The handbook of the UK Jedi Church, founded by film nut Daniel last year, states: "Jedis must wear a hood up in any public place of a large audience."

OldLadyKnowsNothing Fri 18-Sep-09 16:36:41

How does a "traditional requirement! become traditional, though? All religions started somewhere.

OldLadyKnowsNothing Fri 18-Sep-09 16:37:03

Sorry, "traditional requirement". No !

UnquietDad Fri 18-Sep-09 16:38:41

Do you suppose he sidles up to other shoppers and says "These are not the frozen peas you are looking for" ?

Right I'm setting up my own religion. The UK Church of Dirty Dancing.
All men must wear cuban heels and white vests with high-waisted trousers.
All women must wear leotards and leg warmers.
We will mambo and chimichanga at every given opportunity.
A tour of Patrick Swayze's relics will be arranged forthwith.
Every conversation must end with the salutation "Nobody puts Baby in a corner."

If this gets me chucked out of Tesco I shall claim religious discrimination.

UQD grin

OldLady it's not a faith, it's a fictional storyline! Directly traceable, all miracles performed by Industrial Light and Sound.

LOVE Tesco's quote- good person grin

Trikken Fri 18-Sep-09 17:20:44

loving your comment UQD.

TeamEdwardTango dont forget the pachenga.

I know my DH belives George Lucas can walk on water, but a Jedi church is just taking the sith.

TeamEdwardTango Fri 18-Sep-09 17:33:19

Industrial Light and Magic, BethNoire?

OldLadyKnowsNothing Fri 18-Sep-09 17:35:20

BethNoire, how can you tell it's not a "faith"? The history of the Church of the Latter Day Saints (Mormons) is every bit as traceable.
