grrrrrrr cheapo journalism at it's best.

CMOTdibbler Thu 20-Aug-09 08:35:15

Glad to see that Leah has substituted in fake usernames and reworded. I don't object to this one at all

lepirate Thu 20-Aug-09 08:37:02

thought i didn't recognise any names.

StealthBearWipesBumOnDailyMail Thu 20-Aug-09 08:38:05

actually I'm very very happy with that

harleyd Thu 20-Aug-09 08:40:01

what?
mn in the dm?
omg
<panic>
<chases tail in circles for hours>

LesbianCommunistImmigrantPaedo Thu 20-Aug-09 08:43:04

Well they've shortened poster's names so they're not recognisable - must have taken a whole minute longer to write than last week's. And doesn't the thread as 'reported' seem to fall neatly into the dm's 'nanny state gorn mad' agenda? I remain disgusted by this whole thing.

StealthBearWipesBumOnDailyMail Thu 20-Aug-09 08:44:59

As long as the names aren't recognisable (which they're not unless somehow she managed to pick a thread full of posters I happen not to have heard of) and she sticks to lucnhboxes / style / topics like that then I don't have a problem with it. I know it's the DM but advertising is advertising and it's not exactly the BNP newsletter.

KeepPassingTheOpenWindows Thu 20-Aug-09 08:45:24

She's not very imaginative with the names though, is she? Hands up who is Snooky? wink

KeepPassingTheOpenWindows Thu 20-Aug-09 08:47:11

It makes Mumsnet seem very dull though, that all we get worked up about is sandwich fillings....

GibbonInARibbon Thu 20-Aug-09 08:49:28

Not so bad. I wonder if this column will attract more DM readers to MN?

TheDMshouldbeRivened Thu 20-Aug-09 08:51:51

I wish I could land an easy job like that!

BumperliciousVsTheDailyHate Thu 20-Aug-09 08:57:39

What an anodyne representation of mumsnet. Hope it was worth it.

LevitatingCopy Thu 20-Aug-09 09:12:57

Truly meh-worthy, almost impressively so actually.

Alibabaandthe40nappies Thu 20-Aug-09 09:34:30

It is just incredibly boring - how on earth can she justify getting paid for lifting other people's words? Bizarre.

If she is going to change names though then I've got no issue with it - although it sticks in my throat to think that MN are associated with a paper as bad as the DM.

LoveBeingAMummy Thu 20-Aug-09 09:39:04

Shame the posts had nothing to do with the headline though!

letsgostrawberrypicking Thu 20-Aug-09 09:39:28

Wow how many years at Uni did she do to learn to cut and paste other people's words? What a boring article!

msrisotto Thu 20-Aug-09 09:39:59

dull, barely worth a blah

JackBauer Thu 20-Aug-09 09:52:57

The best bit about the whole thing is the comment from 'Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells'

DailyMailCanLickMyBalls Thu 20-Aug-09 09:53:07

I like how Stella from Tunbridge Wells has decided from that thread that your children will turn into benefits cheats, although come to think of it, it seems such an extreme reaction, it might be a MN troll playing devil's advocate. Hmmm...I might sign up to DM comments and play too.

LuluMaman Thu 20-Aug-09 09:57:16

meh

JackBauer Thu 20-Aug-09 09:58:46

Trolling on DM comment page? Damn fine idea!

SoupDragon Thu 20-Aug-09 09:59:12

Clearly it's a sweetener. There is no way such dire drivel would have been passed as fit for publication otherwise.

shootfromthehip Thu 20-Aug-09 10:00:01

DMCLMB, I actually LOL at Stella's comment. Hysterical. Literally.

I had no idea that my DD would end up in jail (paraphrasing) for having a cheese sandwich everyday. May as well go out and spend the Uni fund on silly shoes then as my pandering to her makes the need for it defunct. Jimmy Choo here I come wink

shootfromthehip Thu 20-Aug-09 10:01:25

Are we going to troll enmasse?

Barbara from Edinburgh?
