I was listening to the father of one of the victims on the radio this morning. He was saying that the families do not actually believe he was guilty.

I know, many of them belive Gadffi should have been put on trial, and I think a lot of the UK families belive there was more than just him involved.
I am angry though that he's being released, and that no one else will stand trial

yes, I always thought there was a lot of doubt over whether or not he was guilty.

I dont think he is guilty tbh. The whole thing is very strange. A lot of papers were not disclosed at his appeal. He does not have very long to live so am glad that he is getting time to spend with his family.

Yes he's getting time to spend with his family. Unlike those who died, who will never get time to spend with theirs.

Saltire - that is very true. The Lockerbie bombing was a complete tragedy.

However, I dont believe him to be guilty which is why I said that I was glad that he was getting to go home. I for one would like to get to the 'truth' of what really happened but sadly think that we never will.

We could put him on a plane home and blow it up over the atlantic.

Yes I heard Dr Swires on the radio too and I was full of admiration for him. I think there is a lot of doubt over the guilt of this man but what is known is that he is sick and nobody should face their death in prison in a foreign land. Keeping him in prison does nothing more for those who were lost, it just debases us if we aren't merciful.

I suppose sending him home means we don't have to pay for his medical care.

Incidentally, I have no idea if he is guilty. I think that is a separate matter really. If he is guilty, I have no sympathy for him. None. And, if he is guilty, I think he certainly does deserve to die in prison in a foreign land.

If he is gulity then I too have no sympathy for him whatsoever.
Who cares if he dies in a foreign country? lets face it he'll get better medical care than he would in Libya. He lived a great life when he was in the Bar -L

I think there must be serious doubts about his guilt if they are letting him out.

And what if he is guilty?

Let's face it - he was found guilty - should we just say he isn't because it suits us? Because it's easier to feel sorry for someone who wasn't guilty of the crime?

If he was guilty I have no sympathy for him and certainly don't think he should be allowed to go home to die with his family.

Over 200 people died in that bombing. A horrible, terrifying death.

Perhaps this is his punishment...

His family have been living in Glasgow pretty much the whole time he has been in prison, so saying he can go home to die with his family is rubbish - they are here int this country
