Woman marrying fairground ride

In Telegraf here

"Amy Wolfe, a US church organist who claims to have objectum sexuality, a condition that makes sufferers attracted to inanimate objects, plans to marry a magic carpet fairground ride."

If this thread gets discussed enough to make the top 5, I suggest to MN Towers "All swings and roundabouts?" or "Marriage is a merry-go-round" as a Pithy Thread Description. You can have those for free.

I like the fact that she's a church organist and self-declared sexual wierdo. Only in America...

I think it's lovely that she's willing to make the commitment.

FWIW there are quite a few other people who similar shall we say - in this country too

I agree its all rather weird but I think its unfair to say she 'claims to have objectum sexuality' - Having watched the programme she and the others featured really really do feel a sexual attraction to inatimate objects - weird its true, but I feel sympathy for them I have to say

Not that I am one obviously
Just that I can see how some people love men, some love women, some people are so fond of cats they have 32 of them

And a few love walls
And fairground rides apparently

I know a few who have married men who actually turned out to be as much use as a merry go round ....

How can you have a ceremony?

"Do you, magic fairground ride, take Amy to be your lawful wedded wife"

"Bingely bingley dingely dong ....."

????

How does she know it is a male fairground ride? Surely most US states ban gay marriage?

it will just drive her round the bend, get her in a spin but will at least make the earth feel like it moved.

Suspect the relationship will have its ups and downs.

I've just read this because it came up on Twitter, I don't get it. Is it the statue of the beardy man on the ride that she's in love with or the ride itself? How does anyone get the horn from a merry go round?

It'll all end in divorce when she meets a really sexy supermarket trolley anyway.

She will come back down to earth with a bump, I'm afraid, and will end up feeling sick and ripped off when it all goes off the rails...

Even if they can't be together all the time, at least she'll get a ride whenever she sees him.

I suppose, as inanimate objects go, a fairground ride is pretty "up there". Its the Brad Pitt of inanimate objects.

She's not marrying a kettle (Barry who lives next door to the Spar)
