I think his victory in the EU elections makes him think that he can reveal more of his true true heinous side.

How long before he starts extolling the virtue of gas chambers?

lol at: "The interviewer, BBC Correspondent Shirin Wheeler, said: "I don't think the EU is in the business of murdering people at sea.""

why doesn't someone hand him a rope so he can hang himself properly? He's a complete cock-knob wank-jockey.

So to be clear on this - if you sink someone's boat but give them a life raft, they will automatically drift towards Libya, without any form of GPS system and won't just go 'ah bollocks we will probably drown - go towards those pale faced folks waving BNP flags.

He's such a twat!

Hmm, it's interesting how people only pick out what they want to get outraged by.

What he says here is true

"But Europe has sooner or later to close its borders or its simply going to be swamped by the Third World. It's madness to simply let it go on"

The more publicity the better for his vile frothing lunacy.... I cling to the belief that most of the people who voted for him haven't noticed what a twat he is and when they do they won't vote for him again....

moonie - I'm sure some of the things said in the Third Reich were true as well.

You see the problem is this: people are actually put off discussing issues like this sensibly because the people who are discussing them do it like this. This mad fella is not helping his cause really is he?

I really don't buy this "being swamped" argument. Isn't it actually the case that falling birthrates mean that we need people coming in?

Report
moondog · 09/07/2009 20:41

But noone else is discussing it sensibly. That's the bloody point!

There are only two schools of thought in the UK - ranting lunatics or drippy lentil eater.

The resat of the world snorts with laughter at our lily livered approach.

The aricle explains what this is about: boats from Libya coming to southern Italy

Italy has recently given Libya patrol boats to help prevent it

Probably better than actually sinking the boats

Okay, well you start Moonie. I'll have a rational sensible discussion with you about it. Perhaps you can convert me to your point of view. From my PoV we have a problem in the UK, an aging population who isn't going to be able to work much longer, a declining birth rate and a skills shortage in some areas which isn't being addressed by the education system. Immigration (sensibly managed) is a way of solving some of these problems.

'to help prevent'

Ah, the three magic words so beloved of the measured Brits.

Like shampoo 'helps prevent' dandruff or sex education 'helps prevent' teenage pregnancies, yes?

Report
FAQinglovely · 09/07/2009 20:46

oh that's ridiculous - most immigrants believe it or not don't come from the 3rd world - and those that do in general come to work - so not as aslyum seekers.

We take an absolutely tiny proportion of asylum seekers so he can go and sink he's own bleeding ship.

Absolute bull-shit at it's finest.

You've done it for me Chocolate.

'Immigration (sensibly managed) is a way of solving some of these problems.'

I wouldn't call lethal rustbuckets filled with starving desperate people who have sold their souls to organised criminals 'sensibly managed immigration'.

Would you?

erm well turning the boats around and making them go back is sort of helping prevent it, isn't it?

Report
whomovedmychocolate · 09/07/2009 20:47

No, I think you'll find the men on the Libyan patrol boats are armed and not the nicest people on the planet moonie.

Having a gun shoved in my face in the middle of the ocean versus teen sex? Yes?

FAQinglovely · 09/07/2009 20:49

the thing is you can't stop Asylum Seekers arriving - and by definition an asylum seeker is always going to be an "illegal immigrant" until they have put their refugee application in place. Then they cease to be an illegal immigrant.

Ooh, I bet they're all quivering in their boots Chocolate.
Not much to deal with when you've dragged yourself across the Sahara.

Report
FAQinglovely · 09/07/2009 20:50

lol I don't think many of them actually phsyically drag themselves across the Sahara - chances are they'd never make it across walking

Moondog is right - there will be mass migrations for lots of reasons, warming planet, food and water shortages, civil unrest etc etc. Those people will head for Europe, among other places. There will soon be 7 billion people on this planet (forecasts are for world population to peak at 9 billion and then slowly fall) and already there isn't enough food/water/energy to go round.

Report
FAQinglovely · 09/07/2009 20:55

oh for goodness sake even Europe as a whole has a tiny proportion of the worlds refugees and aslyum seekers. The largest numbers (FAR lager numbers than we get) end up in other 3rd world countries.

Report
FAQinglovely · 09/07/2009 21:00

and I can't see anywhere on the UNHCR website to indicate that suddenly Europe is going to end up with the bulk of them.

Report
FAQinglovely · 09/07/2009 21:14

seriously - when Europe gets to the stage of having to build refugee camps to hold 10,000's of people (and no the detention centres we have in the UK don't even come close) then I'll start to worry about it.

What they really need to be looking at is the speed at which they process asylum applications (as I don't know about the rest of Europe but in the UK Asylum seekers aren't allowed to work - even though many of them possess skills which could be utilised) and the speed at which they deport failed aslyum seekers.

Don't forget that once they've been granted refugee status they're as entitled to live here and work as you or I are.
