So tomorrow is the longest day.
What happens after that then? Do they get shorter or longer? (blond emoticon)

SomeGuy Sun 21-Jun-09 00:12:00

Do they let the drunken hippies on/up to the stones? Or do they keep them behind the wire fences like they do with everybody else that visits?

MaryMotherOfCheeses Sun 21-Jun-09 00:13:24

Cornsilk? Do the days get longer? Eh?

Apart from that, I for one am trying to ignore the onset of winter. Lvoing the daylight.

SomeGuy Sun 21-Jun-09 00:22:46

I think they might disapprove of any homophones juxtaposing the son of God and milk byproducts at convent school wink

FAQinglovely Sun 21-Jun-09 00:23:41

now why is is that the longest day doesn't fall in the midst of summer........middle of summer surely equals the most sun

and the shortest day why doesn't it fall in the midst of winter??????

Dollywood is a theme park run by Dolly Parton.

cornsilk Sun 21-Jun-09 00:25:00

When is the shortest day then FAQ?

OldLadyKnowsNothing Sun 21-Jun-09 00:25:49

21 December. Ish.

cornsilk Sun 21-Jun-09 00:26:29

Never in my freakiest dreams could I have imagined Dollywood. <<shudder>>

SomeGuy Sun 21-Jun-09 00:34:43

Dollywood is Dolly Parton's theme park in Tennessee! Actually she has two now. But the water park is closed at Christmas.

"Dollywood's "Smoky Mountain Christmas" holiday festival is one of the Top Twenty events in the Southeast. Not only is Dolly Parton's famous themed amusement park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee overflowing with sparkling lights, so is Pigeon Forge, itself, as well as the city of Gatlinburg. In fact, the millions upon millions of glittering Christmas lights continue right up to the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park!

The nationally renowned event runs from mid November to late December within Dollywood but continues straight through March in the surrounding area. Just about every building along the ten mile strip of Newfound Gap Road (route 441) is outlined with colorful lights and special scenes, some of which are animated.

Some of my favorites are the giant crystal chandelier, snowflakes that "fall" onto pine branches, Mount Rushmore, The Golden Gate Bridge, a liberty bell large enough to walk through and an 80-foot riverboat that seems to glide alongside the Little Pigeon Forge River. That's just in Pigeon Forge. Gatlinburg is equally as fantastic and a true joy to experience.

The entire ten mile area is filled with craft villages, factory outlets, amusement parks, specialty shops, superb restaurants and other world class attractions."

There is an all-year-round, every day is Christmas hotel in Pigeon Forge:

(dial 1-888-HOLY NIGHT)

but we'd prefer something like this:

The cabin looks quite nice actually.

Although Singing Santa does look quite appealing:

just be aware:

"Santa will not be visiting June 20-27, 2009"

You are doing a good job of selling Dollywood to me Some Guy. I did always enjoy Jolene.
