Accurate commentary on the (depressingly) blokey regime?

Or sticking the knife in any which way she can because she didn't get the job she wanted?

Girly tantrum and stamping of feet imho.

Well, it's certainly the case that there are barely any women - is Harman now the only female cabinet minister, or the only one from the Commons?

Thing is, Cameron's no better. Even when he takes over, we'll still have fewer women MPs and women in positions of power than almost every other Western democracy.

The 300 group - to get equal representation in parliament - was founded in the 70s. How long until there are more than a token few women in our government, of whatever colour?

She was full of praise for him yesterday.

She even said Blears had made a mistake. She didn't need to elaborate like that.

Something quite disturbing about the thread title,, can't put my finger on it

Quite, really shot herself in the foot. Not quite on the same scale as Claire Short not resigning over Iraq when it actually mattered but along the same lines.

Why don't Mumsnet put up a candidate in each and every seat at the next general election? A female candidate, for women, for children, for families - but not so much for blokes.

Forget party politics, left, right, etc. The gender thing is more important.

So long as they aren't too left wing.

Well if she doesn´t want to appear as window dressing, maybe she should stop posing for photos like this.

Did anyone see rory bremner on ch4 news just now? He said it has all worked out so well as all the people Gordon Brown probably didn't want anyway have gone;

Caroline Flint
Hazel Blears
James Parnell

etc.

I was glad to see the back of Geoff Hoon too.

I think Rory Bremner should join the cabinet..Minister for Humour!

May I request a mandate to represent MN. As the representative of the 'Moderately OK Mummy on A Good Day as Long as She Hasn't got PMT or a Hangover' Party.

I am very capable.

But I can't make yorkshire pudding.

We're going to need a manifesto

And extensive financial support.

And a blouse allowance, paid for by taxpayers.

What would be in the Mumsnet manifesto?

I'd like Brazilian and Hollywood waxes to be banned.
Ear-piercing for under 16s - banned.
And giving a back and crack wax would be an indictable offence.

Boy bands must be shot. On sight.

And yicky sports wear banned unless for sport.

All men would do NVQ III childcare, cookery and tidying up after their A levels.

Feminine hygiene products would be free of charge. But the term 'feminine hygiene product' would be banned, of course.

Report
OrmIrian · 05/06/2009 21:09

Actually can we ban the word feminine?

I'll stand, I'll stand... Frootshoots banned or maybe only available on prescription, to be taken in private

Windowdressing - that was my first thought too! She talks about how she is treated yet only a month ago, there she is posing in the Observer in what is obviously a "look at me in my dress" photo shoot.

She cannot have it both ways.
