I would ignore that article to be honest. I think O'Leary spouts some nonsensical crap every couple of weeks to get his name in the papers, people start talking in shocked tones about Ryanairs prices, but at leats it's publicity.

And the gumpf about Boeing's resources is utter bollocks, there is no way that the downturn in the middle east wars would bear any correlation to the amount of research undertaken by Boeing. Boeing commercial and military are completely different organisations with seperate revenue streams etc. Honestly, it's not as if a couple of engineers are told 'right, war's over, stop looking at the wings on that bomber, have a look at taking the khazis out of a 737'.

I would be more worried that Ryanair use trainee, and/or very inexperienced pilots on quick turnaround, than being charged £1 to go to the loo. Lots of people who work in aerospace do not fly Ryanair as a rule because of this (however will use Easyjet, BMIBaby etc).

Well I would, except that he ran it up the flagpole a few months ago & the reaction to that plainly hasn't put him off the idea - and it's SIX MORE SEATS which sounds like no contest given his mindset.

Didn't know about the pilots! But I've never flown Ryanair yet & will try harder than ever to avoid in future.

Poor girl in Dublin airport tried to interest me in a Ryanair credit card yesterday. She was told sharpish that I would have nothing to do with anything to do with Michael O'Leary.

I then had to try to explain to DS why I hate someone I have never met.

Saw him advertising raving on the Beeb this morning, vile man. He can do what he likes, he can give me tickets for free, sometimes you get what you pay for.

There are very few people I actively hate, but Michael O'Leary is one of them. He is vile. They do have an impressive safety record, inexperienced pilots or not, but the staff (and passengers) are treated shockingly badly.

Removing toilets seems a good idea. More seats, lower prices, lower carbon footprint. And if you do that you have to limit demand. Which charging obviously does. People will wait or go before hand.

The flight attendants will love that when they're trying to wheel their trolleys full of over-priced drinks and snacks down the aisle.

I'm flying with Ryan Air in a few weeks - with 2 small children. If they have only 1 loo and a queue forms when ds1 needs to go - well more fool them... (evil mummy emoticon).

The vile Michael O'Leary was just on Sky News with Jeff Randall and confirmed that it's true.

He also admitted they are seriously thinking about charging for sick bags as well.

I love Ryanair. Fly with them about once a month and always manage to get the tickets half the price of what I would pay other airlines. I don't mind inexperienced pilots and no toilets as long as they are cheap.

I agree with Hassled - can't stand that man. I changed my holiday dates for this August when I realised that my original dates would have required me to fly RyanAir.

Perhaps they could issue a kind of potty/sick bag combo at a compulsory 50p a time and remove the loos entirely. everyone would be happy - no queue for the loo, no disruption to the drinks trolley and Mr O'Leary could go on telly again to publicise it.

I am another one who wouldn't fly with them.

Only we have used bmibaby, easyjet, flybe, thomson & monarch in the past & they've all been OK really.

I used to like Ryanair in the very beginning (eons ago), now not so much anymore (understatement of the year). Unfortunately for me they are the only airline that flies directly to both cities I want to go to... and flying woth two under 4 on my own it's bad enough without having to add 2 more hours in a car.
Maybe I should try something else though as I'm getting quite fed up of flying... (one wonders if it ios the airline or the toddlers though).

It is actually Ryanair. I booked online as we needed to fly to Jerez and its not that common a route - RA was one of the only cheaper ones offering that route.
