Some ridiculous woman is bemoaning the lack of a lively supportive online parenting forum in the uk here

maybe we should write a multiple sig letter with all our usernames.

I read that this morning and I thought it was fair, because that was for a specific geographic location. "Within two days she received 27 email replies from mothers in her neighbourhood." That wouldn't happen here - well maybe it would if you live in certain parts of London but not otherwise.

MN has had loads of plugs in the broadsheets when it's relevant.

hunkermunker · 30/03/2005 18:56

Put mine down if anyone does the multiple letter thing

spacedonkey · 30/03/2005 18:56

yeah i was a bit irritated by that too, especially as mumsnet has had a bit of coverage from the guardian in the past. Fools.

I've been reading the paper much more closely while I've been internet-less, and seem to spend at least 60% of my day feeling incensed by Michael Howard

I burned my copy by accident yesterday. Will probably do my blood pressure good then.

I'm sorry, MN is way better - look at the response to the family travelling the length of the country by train, for example.

I think netmums has a different purpose to that of mumsnet though doesn't it?

But even the meetups are a bit sparse in many places SP (not just Thetford, lol!)Of course MN is great while you're online, and some people have made fantastic friendships through it locally, but it's not a neighbourhood online parenting forum as netmums aims to be.
