Doesnt this sort of stink of hypercritism? when she said I wont comment until I speak to my 'agent' - was what she meant - I could make some money out of this - I know if every time I speak I have The Sun logo above my head I will bask in the glory?

Isnt talking about how rubbish RB is in bed stooping to the very level that we are accusing RB of? Will RBs granfather not have to read this article and will they not be upset? Sachs has been very dignified about the whole inccident though it has to be said.

She may as well make some cash out of the incident. Good for her I say.

She is very young and obviously keen on risk taking as can be seen by the fact that she boffed russel brand. I hope she used a barge pole.

That's made me lose any sympathy I had for her.

If she is upset about the impact this has had on her grandfather though - is her selling the details to the sun going to help?

I feel very sorry for her grandfather. He is the only one to have behaved with dignity throughout the whole incident.

I have no sympathy for Georgina Baillie now.

Lets stop giving them all the publicity they seem to crave. If this continues, she'll be on I'm a Celebrity next year or something.
I only realized today that they had actually slept together - I thought it was all made up!
Only person I have any sympathy for is Andrew Sachs.

I agree with some of the posts that say 'Why shouldn't she tell her side of the story?' as it wasn't her that broadcast this in the first place. She is making the best of a bad situation I suppose. Although, I personally would have more respect for her if she didn't sell her story to the Sun and get Max Clifford involved. An in depth TV interview may have been the better option?

I do however think this whole incident reeks of hypocrisy on every level. And it should now set a precedent for this kind of story. Kiss and tell stories are in the newspapers every week. If we are indeed sick of this kind of tale, then let's take it to the max. I shall expect 27,000 complaints next time a daily newspaper has a kiss and tell on the front cover. In fact, I seem to recall The Daily Mail knocking on Russell Brand's Mum's door asking what she thought of his exploits. She was very upset at the time I believe.

Who am I kidding? I probably won't complain . . thats the sad part of it. I don't buy any newspapers, I haven't for years now.

I don't blame her for selling her story. Like LL said, it's Russell Brand who put the 'story' in the public domain, not her. Why shouldn't she have some sort of benefit from the whole sorry saga?

I'm afraid my sympathy's vanished now.

winera - what a good post.

You are so right. A public flogging of 'celebrities' take place in the tabloids everyday and nobody holds them accountable for the hurt and pain they cause the families involved. I wish the passion involved in the outrage of what rb and Jr did could be extended to include the tabloids.

livinglavida - that is all fine - but how does going into explicit detail help her grandfather?

A week ago no-one had heard of her.

Now she has a glittering career ahead of her as a sleb.

I am not surprised.

The whole affair was pathetic.

And to get politicians involved - well

Obviously a slow news week

And IMHO - RB and JR are a pair of talentless, overpaid nobboids.

She is just as bad imho

The only one to come out of this with any dignity is Andrew Sachs

she isn't exactly an innocent bystander in all of this is she ?

piratecat · 30/10/2008 09:52

having heard the broadcast that RB and J Ross did, why do people keep sayign it's RB who mentioned it. It was J Ross, who brought it up. Why shuoldn't she have her say, and get paid for it, seeing as those two twats are loaded anyhow.

"she isn't exactly an innocent bystander in all of this is she ? "

why, because she slept with Russell Brand years ago, when barely out of her teens?

yes, I can see that she brought all this on herself and should have no right of reply

I think what's a bit YUCK is that her only story is "My Grandfather is so upset!" but in order to SELL that story, she has to ... upset her grandfather (by appearing semi-naked and encouraging MY GRANDFATHER IS DISTRAUGHT! headlines). He was actually perfectly happy with Brand/Ross's original response of sending him a nice apologetic letter.

So that's what is a bit CRINGEWORTHY

but that's the meedja innit

ssummers - It won't help him at all, but at least she could go to her grandfather and say, I've decided to sell my side of the story, it will be quite explicit, I thought I should warn you... This is very different to the poor man listening to his answerphone messages and hearing Jonathan Ross shout, "He f*cked your granddaughter!" and all the subsequent messages they left.
