Should the Yorkshire Ripper be let out???????????????????????

At the minute, the Yorkshire Ripper is asking to be let out to see is dying sister for the day.

Personally I don't think he should be, he lost every right when he started killing innocent women.

If he can't do the crime, don't do the time.

I'd like to be though that this country being what it is, the thing will get compassionate leave.

Jampots, no, he wants to be let out with prison warders I think to see his terminally ill sister.

He got let out for a day last year to see where his dads ashes were scattered.

This is a man who slaughtered 13 innocent women, I don't think he should have any rights, he should have thought about that years and years ago, and should certainly not live in comfort with luxuries like he does.

Surely his sister would understand though that he is clearly too big a risk to be let out and though he may never do it, if your brother was a serial killer who just butchered women, would you like him by your bedside?

For his benefit then no I dont think he should be let out but it may be something his sister really wants in which case then yes a day with his terminally ill sister would be ok in my book. Agree he should have absolutely no bloody luxuries though

Every time this monster is let out of prison for some reason or other, why on earth should I have to pay tax on that,its bad enough that I have to pay tax to keep him and other monsters in a life of luxury without him paying for him to have a'day out'. Each one of these day trips out of prison costs the tax payer £2,000.00

Either way, if he is insane or a murderer who knew what he was doing, he should not be let out because he still poses a threat to society.

i think he should be able to see his sister, i am presuming that if she is terminally ill she cant trac#vel to the prison herself.

now if he was asking for a day at the funfair then i'd be furious.

I am not arrogant, and do not like being accused of being so just stating what I think most women would feel.

How will his sister settle, it will a media frenzy, the press and other people will go wild, surely posing a risk to other patient if she is on hospital.

He is in no life of luxury, Broadmoor is pretty bleak, he is in almost total isoaltion after being attacked several times by other patients. he is very sad old man, which to be frank is more than he deserves.
The girlf of my hubbys workmate is a psych nurse at Broadmoor and he was not allowed out for his fathers funeral as it was too much publicity. But he was allowed compassionate leave to see where his fathers ashes were scattered in Cumbria, my dads ashes are scattered there also !!! eeeks
I expect he will not be allowed out this time around, although personally I would not express a view either way if he is under custody/cuffs and constant supervision.

He is a very maninpulative person, that is why he evaded capture for so long, he was let out that time to see his dads ashes, what if he has been thinking how this day went and trys to make a run for it.

Why should he be allowed to see family, he didn't think of his victims family when he murdered them, they are forever living in hell because of him.

He doesn't have any rights, but his sister does.

This isn't about him, it's about showing compassion to her. If she wants it, then of course she should be allowed to see him before she dies. She didn't murder anybody.

I think if his sister's dying wish is to see her brother then so be it, regardless of what he has done. This is about her, not him. Its not like its going to be a fun day out for him. Of course his crimes are/were horrific and I certainly don't think he should ever be released from prison but to deny his sister this last wish is to punish her for his crimes which can never be right

Neither did the victims parents but they had their daughter taken from them, if he is so manipulative that he evaded capture, what is to say he can't try and make a run for it, after all there have been weirdos out there who have set up fan clubs and wanted to marry him

my dp was clearing the loft out b 4 xmas and came across a old newspaper stating "Yorkshire the ripper 9th victim"!!! the newspaper dated the year of 1974.

He's 60 this year.

60 is hardly an old man. Also, I can't see why he was let out to see where his father's ashes were scattered - that was obviously for his own benefit, not his father's!
