Brooklyn Beckham gets £25,000 ear-rings for 6th birthday!!!!

Brooklyn Beckham has been given the ultimate in bling for his sixth birthday - a pair of £25,000 earrings.

David and Victoria Beckham commissioned New York designer Jacob the Jeweller to create the diamond earrings, which are just like Brooklyn's father's £75,000 pair, reports The Daily Mail.

The couple reportedly wanted to give their eldest son a special present following a difficult year, which has seen intense tabloid speculation about the couple's marriage. Brooklyn will also have a birthday party at the couple's Spanish home - complete with clown, juggler and fire eater.

A source told the paper: "Brooklyn adores his father and always wants everything his dad has got.

"David and Victoria wanted to get him something extra special for his birthday. It has been a pretty tough year for the whole family."

Celebrity guests expected to attend the party include Elizabeth Hurley and Baby Spice Emma Bunton.

I believe he isn't a spoilt brat though; have never forgotten hearing about his behaviour when he was being entertained at Man Utd by some nanny types (while Victoria was watching the match I think) - at the end apparently he helped tidy the toys away without being asked and said thank you when he left.

I think it is really mean to call the little lad a brat We (I am assuming) don't know him so have no knowledge of what the little boy is like. And we actually only know what the press have decided to tell us he wants anyway.

He may well have said can I have some earings like you daddy. Many kiddies like to copy mum and dad. But I suspect he would prefer an alternative toy for his main pressie.

If anyone could be blamed (if indeed even necessary) for having such an extravagent pressie it s mum and dad, not Brooklyn.

my exh used to work at Manchester children's hospital and when they were still in this country they paid loads of no fuss visits to the hospital, visiting children and bringing goodies for them. They would just turn up unannounced, and spend a couple of hours with the children, they were incredibly popluar with the staff.

If they have that much money and want to spend it on earrings for their son, surely it's their choice? They do good work for others and are harming no one buying him earrings?

But having a 6yr old boys ears pierced is a differnt thread .......

Fine if they want to buy an extravagant present for their son - although I think there comes a point where the impact is devalued and the child learns nothing about respecting their things and the value of money - but why does the World Press need to know ? They could have just put the jewels or money in a vault for later on and kept it quiet, saying they bought him toys or whatever (which they probably did as well).

btw it is reasonably common for young boys in Europe (under 10's ) to have a pierced ear although I don't see the point.
