15 yeatrold 33 stone whose mum says she couldn't afford to give her healthy food!!

what a poor excuse for her situation. Giving nutricious and healthy food does not cost any more than the rubbish she must eat and the vast quantities she must consume to maintain 33 stone. And it started at 5 years old! Who bought her the food in the first place. I am overweight so have some insight.....

No, it doesn't. It is more about ignorance than money. Some people just don't know how to cook healthy food, or cook at all. They need help and support. Plus some parents show love through food, or can't say no because they feel mean, many many reasons. And then the fatter you get, the worse you feel, so you comfort eat..and bam, you've got a vicious circle. Education and support. That's the key.

IF parents refuse to change, despite help, support, advice, education, etc, then and only then should other options (like foster care) be explored, imo.

like i said i have some personal insight but completely agree with all those thoughts too hecate.
