Don't get me wrong - I think it's great that it's been saved, but with coastal errosion happening so fast in some places I would have thought they'd have moved it a bit more than 25m.........or maybe it's just me?

Oh I thought you meant 25 miles
it would have made more sense to move it further but im guessing they had to relocate it onto land they already owned.

Costal erosion happens very slowly in that part of the world due to the rock type [dh is into Geology].

fair enough - quite interesting I've just been reading the links on the right to previous stories about this

13th March 2003 - Cost "up to" £500,000
2nd August 2004 - £550,000 needed to carry out the plan
13th October 2005 - grant had been given with some more needed totally nearly £600,000
25th January 2006 - 600k had been raised - another 114 still needed - so £715,000
5 September 2006 - cost £700,000
26th February 2008/today - had cost £898,000
