Blimey! I've seen safety tests on double deckers and they can lean at a hell of a angle before they topple over... whatever happened must have been very odd indeed.

they only were sayaing this on something I was listening to the other day.....one of those 'strange but true' thingies.

IIRC they said that buses can lean over further than anything before toppling as they are made with a very low centre of gravity.

this bus has proven them wrong today!

it was an open topped bus....

OMG

I never realised it was open topped!!!

two cars involved, one driver has been arrested for dangerous driving.

oh goodness! was there a couple of days ago - saw an open top bus going over on the chainbridge ferry.

Had never been on a chainbridge ferry before and was a bit startled about the bus being on it as the water was pretty choppy.

it looks like the bus toppled onto the grassy area rather than on the road ,which may of helped to prevent anyone having more serious injuries.thank god no-one was killed.has anyone heard who was at fault ,the cars or the bus ??? How frightening for everyone involved and the poor children must of been terrified.

I've been on that bus and amazed that is rolled just because it is all rather sleepy around there and jam packed with holiday makers etc.

So they are questioning the driver of the Porsche rather than the family in the VW or the bus driver...

it was on the otherside of the chainlink ferry that this happened.

the ferry is closed still, and will be for the forseable time right now according to the news.

DH said that when he came home from work there were more emergency vehicals heading that way still!!
