Did anyone see the John Major interview on the Andrew Marr show?

I never realised until today, that Labour changed the mechanism for calculating inflation, taking out housing costs and council tax which is most of peoples' expenditure (average 45%).

So when I was thinking back to the 90s and reassuring myself thinking well it isn't as bad as then, in actuality inflation is at 8-10%.
