Oh no sad. Dh and I have just been talking about this as it was on the local news. I didn't realise it had been confirmed.

We were out in Lanarkshire about teatime and there were loads of ambulances and police and traffic lights switched off and then a huge convoy of police outriders and ambulances were driven right past us. Thats what it must have been

I'm gobsmacked! So, so sorry for his wife and daughter (his wife used to be his co-driver before they had kids). I have a 5yo ds - brings it home how precious him and dh are really.

thats is so sad.

Saw the headlines on BBC website, and thought there was a problem with news page, but realised it was Bertie Fisher I was thinking of.

He was also a very well known Rally driver, who along with his son and daughter was killed in a helicopter crash a few years ago.

I've only just heard this and it says that there were no survivors.
I can't imagine how awful this is for the families involved.
Terrible tragedy.

hs it been confirmed ? Very sad if so

ThePigletGuru Sun 16-Sep-07 10:06:44

It sounds as though Colin McRae was definitely on board, and three others - thought to be his 5 year old son Johnny, and a friend with his child. But no names have been released yet.

Heartbreaking sad.

Highlander Sun 16-Sep-07 11:22:42

Sky News update appears to confirm the worst.
This is so sad.
Thoughts with his family, especially his wife and daughter

tortoiseSHELL Sun 16-Sep-07 12:59:23

So sad for his family. sad

LIZS Sun 16-Sep-07 13:16:06

apparently 2 adults and 2 children(his ds and a friend) on board

TheQueenOfQuotes Sun 16-Sep-07 15:48:02

yes sad about this - I tend not to mind DS1 seeing/reading the news - but I've been avoiding it like the plague today - it's his 7th birthday today, and he's currently sat playing Colin McRae World Rally on his PS2 with DS2 - he'd be gutted.
