It is good but it's unlikely to mean she'll face justice because it's unlikely the US will see fit to extradite her. So ultimately it's little more than symbolic.

Also it helps support any civil case the Dunns bring in the US - a jury might have assumed she couldn’t really be guilty if British authorities weren’t prosecuting her.

8by8 yes, that's all true. I still think the likelihood of her ever really facing justice is very, very slim. And I think when the family of Harry Dunn finally realise this it's going to prolong the awfulness. I find their hope and innocence quite heart-breaking.

I really hope that people are looking after his parents and immediate family well. I can't imagine losing a child in such an awful way and having to fight so hard to get some sort of justice. And I'm not ever convinced they will, even with this.

I don't think Mrs Sacoolas has much of a moral code, putting it politely.

The US will not allow her extradition. They will not allow the wife of a security official to be in a foreign prison.

It's a step by the CPS but one which I don't think will achieve much. I doubt Sacoolas will be allowed to leave the US for a long, long time (if ever).

FWIW I suspect she was pulled out of the UK rather than her fleeing of her own accord. The US embassy informed the FO (i.e. told them in no uncertain terms) she would be leaving after the FO asked the US to waive immunity. She left the country on a USAF plane. US embassy keeps quiet about the fact she's no longer in the UK until the FO actually ask the question.

To me, that suggests she had little choice in the matter and it was in the hands of the US embassy and associated officials, although I don't doubt she felt relief.

She’s devastated and sorry about Harry’s death. Yet she is refusing to come over and face justice. She doesn’t sound very sorry to me. She aught to hauled back to the UK for a lengthy sentence. If it was a single mum on welfare she would be.
My dd was almost hit by a speeding car. It went so fast and I was too shocked to see the Registration plate.
It missed her literally by inches. I still sob about what could have happened and still thank God every day for saving her. I just can’t imagine what Harry’s poor family are going through. I’ve just watched the video on YouTube I broke my heart crying.
And The US Government has the darm audacity to call the charges disappointing and unhelpful.!!!!!.
Not a fraction of disappointing as young man losing his life and parents losing their son.
