It's a shame.

He is a brilliant writer.

nomdeplume Tue 24-Jul-07 18:48:14

The case does look fairly damning (obv from what the media shows us)

nomdeplume Tue 24-Jul-07 18:48:56

I loved Help and thought he was brilliant in the BBC2 political thing, forgotten the blardy name now

GibbonInARibbon Tue 24-Jul-07 18:51:28

It will always be the whole 'no smoke without fire' thing, no matter what the outcome

Yes grooming etc.

More than disappointed I think. But disappointed is a good term.

He was soo good in 'People Like us'. NDp is it 'In the Thick of It' or something?

nomdeplume Tue 24-Jul-07 18:53:32

The Thick of It. That's it, thanks Mercy. It was brill.

foxinsocks Tue 24-Jul-07 18:53:35

not all the porn he had on his computer - can't see how he'll get out of that - from the BBC today

"Mr Crute (forensic computer analyst) then told them that file names on the laptop made reference to children as young as seven, while some included the words Lolita, incest and rape. "

f'ing sicko if it is true and he is found guilty

Desiderata Tue 24-Jul-07 18:53:40

I shouldn't think Paul Whitehouse is that happy about the placement of his photo on that clip.

When I first looked at it, I thought he'd been accused.

Hassled Tue 24-Jul-07 18:54:35

Agree that it's just so disappointing - didn't really watch Help but The THick of It was/is fantastic.
Apart from the weird consensual or other relationship with the teenager, the child porn thing isn't going to go away - and anyway, isn't it irrelevant whether it was research or not, just the act of downloading it is illegal?

Carnoodleusfudge Tue 24-Jul-07 18:54:58

Very sad.
The Thick of It was one of the most funny and intelligent political entertainment things that has been on

Tinker Tue 24-Jul-07 19:07:07

Sorry, probably inappropriate I know, but still makes me snigger that someone got him confused with Chris Packham

nomdeplume Tue 24-Jul-07 19:07:48
