Couldn't find CraicNet to post? The Roscommon question.

Anyone following the melee in Roscommon?
Rang my mother and she's all in an excited state over the whole shebang.
It's down the road from her, so all I could get out of her was 'they were all dressed in black'.

I asked her who was dressed in black.

Oh, I wouldn't say that on the phone.

FFS Mammy, who was dressed in black and what are you on about?

It's all over Facebook.

Mammy how are the dogs?

The dogs are grand, but it's awful what happened in Roscommon.

Mammy I don't know what you're talking about!

I'll send you a link on Facebook.

Anyway, as it turns out, all the newspapers in Ireland are breaking it this morning.

It's like she works for the fucking Secret Service.

Isn't it awful what happened? If you don't know what she's on about, she'll give you no information whatsoever.

Has anyone else got a mad Irish Mammy who'll say nothing. Even to their daughter! On the phone?????????? FFS, It's not like the FBI are intercepting our calls Mammy, or they'd be bored to fuck.

I think I detest the other way more. "You know so and so"? "No, I don't" "Ah ya do. They did that thing when you were younger, married to that bloke, had the three kids the eldest lives in Australia now"? "No I really don't". "You do". "Ok, vaguely, why"? "they're dead". Not that's always helpful.....::

Oh my Dad is an expert at those conversations.

So and so died

Oh, who was he?

Ah you'd know him, you would have worked with him.

Oh, the name doesn't ring a bell

Arah, his whole family worked there, you'd know him.

Alright Dad, any other news?

I’ve read varying reports of the age of the farmers - most say “elderly” but some say in their 50s and 60s.

Strokestown has a long history of land agitation if I remember rightly. The loyalist paramilitary angle seems a bit sinister and outlandish - is it just that the security firm are from the north, or are there actual links to th UDA/UVF?

I think some people are saying (not sure whether this was mere speculation) that some of the security men were ex British army. I'd say the link to UDA/UVF is merely speculative.
Though in one of the videos one of the neighbours say to the security guy 'Come on, you're Irish' and the guy replies 'I'm British'.

The farmer is 64 and apparently in very poor health. The brother and sister is one in their sixties and one in fifties. It's the farmer who is named on the court documents, the brother and sister must not be owners.

It's Craicnet Op.
I think the Yellow Vests in France have given some of our lot ideas.
The recent attacks on KBC bank premises.
If I was a high profile banker during the boom / recession I'd be a bit nervous tbh after what has happened in the last fortnight.
Apparently the Junior bond holders are getting paid despite Enda Kenny saying they wouldn't.
Our effing politicians are useless. They seem to do far more for businessmen and big companies than the poor old Joe/ Josephine Soap who voted for them.Sad

I read just now that Irish Yellow Vests had blocked the Port Tunnel Dublin today.
