Yes same. Life is heart wrenching, we see this more and more as we get older.

I've heard lots on Russian bots on Twitter and FB to create further anger.

Also the Merseyside police statement is an attack on free speech 🤔

Morning all, I haven't slept well. Can't stop thinking about the poor baby, hope he is comfortable and pain free.

I don't understand why he's not getting nutrition now he's breathing independently. I know the hospital are doing what they consider to be in his best interests and I admire all the staff there. I just don't understand it.

Dayinlife of because that would be against the whole point of his EOL plan. It wouldn't serve AE. It would only serve his parents.

Strange littlebillie

It's basically several screenshots explaining exactly what they know about Alfie, the care that he has been offered and the fact the BG is not offering treatment, just more palliative care.

There were lots of explanations on the previous thread about the nutrition issue. Don't think that thread will be deleted till mnhq wake up, get into work and coffee up so go look back a few pages into it.

Excellent link soubriquet Comprehensive assessment of the case written for the most part in laymans terms. No doubting the bleak prognosis. Unfortunately if you read some of the comments later there are sadly still some who steadfastly disbelieve the evidence in front of them Shock

Don’t kid yourself on that bots are only Russian there is a lot of American interest in the case and their bots will be adding fuel to their own agendas

He will be kept hydrated. But adding food to a body shutting down will cause pain.
And of course when you say ‘breathing’ remember he has apparently been resuscitated three times by his parents.

I hope they close the grounds today. That rabble are behaving dreadfully. Staff are being abused and threatened. Inexcusable.

As far as I read yesterday he has been getting some nutrition through a reinserted tube. You can see the tube on pictures, they’ve used it for water/fluids as well.

Wow these are moving fast

TamiTayorismyparentingguru from thread 4 you said, but the lawyers and the Christian organisation who are backing them should really know better and should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

They won't be. I'm sure in morning assembly in RC schools up and down the country prayers will be said for Alfie to go to Rome.

You said you are Christian and at the risk of upsetting you this is typical of some Christians in general and RC in particular, life must be continued at all costs just in case there is a miracle.

I don't understand why he's not getting nutrition now he's breathing independently.

There are better descriptions on the other threads but basically nutrition can be a huge problem, This baby has not had anything in his stomach for months, his organs are shutting down so he cannot digest nutrition and it can make his breathing worse.

Thanks (and to others), I'll have a look. I'm not one of AA who steadfastly refuses to believe the evidence; I just genuinely want to understand.

day To feed a dying baby would actually make him suffer more. His body is shutting down gradually, and the digestive system will not work, so the body will be struggling to deal with anything nutritional. Just as we lose our ability to eat when ill.
EOL care means letting the body wind down, literally slip away & the nurses & doctors looking after Alfie will be doing their very best to ensure the process is as easy as possible.
Waiting for anyone to die can be a long painful process for the family to watch, none more so than for parents of a precious babe but there is nothing to be gained by intervening, desperately sad as it is.

Inwork in a school that takes its Catholic title very seriously. I can assure you that absolutely will not be the case.
