Why is Michelle Obama the object of so much hate?

Am I the only person to be absolutely shocked by the comments at the end of this article?

I am on a Facebook page that is a fan group for Michelle, I like her and I think she was an amazing FLOTUS and is a truly classy, intelligent woman.
However I'm often appalled at some of the people that will 'like' the page just to post racist, sexist comments about her and Barack. It highlights the portion of the American people that really didn't support them, they're usually Trump supporters funnily enough.

would it surprise you that most of the vile things written on Trumps fan pages are by Obama supporters?

The way of the world, if you are going to insult someone you tend to pick on something that the person would take very personal.
Fatty, Baldy, big nose, "A girl"... or worst.
Best responses to it no response or own it. Yeah, I am fat big nose girly and proud. turns the insult in to a praise.

You don't go around name calling and making snide digs at other people because they are different from you or have different opinions to you.

Not all sheep are the same colour, so don't blame them all for the lack of colour coordinated wool.
