Elizabeth and Katie Edwards murders: killers' identities revealed

This is the case in 2016 where a mother and daughter were murdered in their beds and a teenage girl and boy were found guilty. The names of the killers weren't revealed because of their ages.

The BBC are reporting that the ban on naming the killers has been lifted. The girl killer was the daughter/sister of Elizabeth and Katie. Chilling.

I remember thinking at the time that there was some link between them, you never saw the surviving daughter and she happened to be the same age as the girl convicted of the murders... just dreadful

It wasn't a well kept secret though was it? The two had been all over the national press the previous autumn after running away together for a week. It's a terribly sad case all round.

So did I. She was described as a mother of two and the other daughter had run away with the boyfriend before. And they stayed in the house afterwards.

I believe she was a mother of three. I'd heard that the eldest daughter announced it on Facebook but then deleted it within days of them being arrested.

I think the defense tried to argue that the daughter is suffering from severe attachment disorder. She felt the mother disliked her and favoured the younger sister. The mother had admitted striking the older daughter and the daughter had accused her mother of strangling her on a separate occasion, although the mother and younger sister denied that. Both daughters had been removed from the mother's care previously. And the older daughter has run away from home and chose to live in the woods until she was found and brought home.

Not that any of that is an excuse for murder but puts another perspective on things.

There is a lot of focus on the girl and rightly so but the violence was actually perpetrated by the boy - and none of the attachment issues etc relate to him.

Sounds like a very troubled family but to be fair there are lots of troubled families whose kids don't grow up and want to kill them. I suspect this girl has some kind of other issues going on as well. Eye sad.
