poorly researched or downright misinformation

i look forward to checking over the morning headlines.
frequently i find stories poorly written not enough detail or totally misleading headline.
is it me or am i looking for too much? is this a result of iPhone journalism and lack of permanent news staff?
i find immigration issues interesting but besides the personal story should the journalist not give accurate policy details?
or is no one interested in reading policy?
