I've been followed this case but I'm left baffled

What could have happened to him? 4 months and not a thing.... nothing

Literally gone without a traceSad

No idea, but feel so sad for his poor family.

Sadly he's not the first and won't be the last person to just disappear. Must be awful for the family of any missing people.

Terrible. Poor family. God only knows where the poor man is. His partner is pregnant too and never got to tell him he was going to be a dad. Sad

The most likely explanation seems to be that he got into a wheelie bin though I know there are explanations which tend to undermine that theory.

Almost as bad as the terrible grief his family must feel, is the way in which his personal life has been dragged through the mire. Never has the term gutter press been more apt.

The bin was discounted due to weight. They are weighed before taking away and was less than a human. Just paper recycling I believe

4 months on and not a trace.

His family have conducted themselves more questionably than any news source in my and many others opinions.

To answer OPs question, my guess is that he's dead. I think he decided to hook up with someone from one of the casual sex sites he was on and it ended badly.

OP, why do you feel it is appropriate to start a thread inviting idle and salacious gossip about a missing person?

Have you nothing better to occupy your time with? Biscuit

Girlfriends uncle was v involved with Russian gangsters my gut instinct is something to do with meddling in stuff or being encouraged to do something illegal

i wouldnt rule out the sex/dating apps he was using. he could have arranged to meet someone, wasnt he last seen near a lane?

its already been ruled out he couldnt have left by foot without being spotted on CCTV, so he either went to someones house who lives in that street/lane, & something happened there, or he got into a car which then left with him, perhaps to the area where his phone pinged. i really cant see him climbing into a wheelie bin or bin lorrie.

The Marham abduction attempt was a bit of a worry. But police feel it's unlikely

I'm quite surprised that people are still unaware of this case.... nobody at work knew what I was on about. Corrie is all over the news and posters and still people are not aware

People disappear every day.

He's likely dead. Statistically, it's likely that he either committed suicide, had an accident (while drunk) somewhere and his body hasn't been found, or he was murdered by someone he knew at least somewhat. I wouldn't discount AWOL either.

His penchant for meeting up with people online with little/no prior conversation is the thing that would be setting off alarm bells in my mind, and that's the avenue I'd pursue after ruling out the above possibilities (and statistical probabilities).

There's been a D notice put on reporting his dissaperance?! His uncle confirmed (before the post was deleated) this is vary unusual.

So very sad.
I don't mean this badly at all but I'm interested in why there is so much publicity surrounding this case. Is there a reason I wonder for this.
So many people go missing.
I really hope he's safe and well

NotStoppedAllDay · 02/02/2017 21:34

I suppose the military connection makes it more unusual

He's effectively AWOL

His whole family searching and being active/vocal make it 'different' too. Quite a few young men have gone missing over past few years

DD was telling me about the Manchester canal.... a suspected serial killer. 80+ young men found dead in it over only a few years. Terrifying

Many people do go missing, helensburgh, but it's quite often more clearcut, in that they've clearly decided to go away for reasons of their own.

The Corrie McKeague case is very mysterious because he seems to have disappeared in situ, as it were, leaving no obvious trace. I suppose the family have been very active in keeping it in the public eye too.

Probably the truth when it emerges will be quite banal, but for now it's all very puzzling.

Update

They have arrested a 26 year old man in connection with this case. It is not the bin man.

Report
ThisIsStartingToBoreMe · 03/03/2017 14:19

It's a former Suffolk police special Constable who now works for the bin firm. Charged with perverting the course of justice.

Report
MunchMunch · 07/03/2017 22:20

Turns out the weight of the bin was wrong! It was actually over 100kg rather than the 11kg that was reported. Looks like we might find out where Corrie is after all Sad
