In practice very little other than which letters you get to put after your name and whether you are entitled to be called "Sir", "Lady, "Dame", etc. However, they are different ranks. For the ones you name, MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) is the lowest rank. Next up is OBE (Officer) then CBE (Commander). Knights and dames come above that. Ladies can be anything from peers of the realm who are entitled to sit in the House of Lords down to the spouse of someone who has been knighted.
