Somebody please ask him how much he thinks a parent needs to make in gross pay to afford to go back to work if he/she has 3 kids under five. Then, point him to that £72k nanny thread.

Oh, and then ask him if he'll scrap that road tax proposal seing how we already pay 70p in tax for every £1 we spend on petrol.

I e-mailed asking about tax deductable childcare for working parents. didn't get picked up by the beeb but, in response to a SAHM question about financial support, he talked about the transferable tax allowances for couples.

nice idea, but the tax thresholds are so low I suspect that it would not make a massive difference??? would be interesting to run the figures...
