A law proposing that a man who does not want his partner to have a baby, can opt himself out of childcare costs.

Discussed on Young Turks YouTube channel too..

I thought this was some sort of wind up! Bizarre idea.

There are lots of groups who want bizarre laws and hopefully democracy prevents really stupid laws.

Makes me think of the millions of women who'd like to "opt in" to their children's father paying child support, but the men don't agree and get away with paying nothing

Totally ridiculous!!
When the father has remorse over his decision 10 years later and decides he wants to be involved, hope it forces them pay the arrears!

But if a man doesn't want to have a child surely he can just not have sex.

Oh, he wants to have his cake and to eat it. If the woman becomes pregnant accidentally then I take it she has to bear all financial responsibility if she continues with the pregnancy, but the bloke can just opt out.

Gosh, that's totally fair Hmm

Good idea . So if I man doesn't want to support his child, the tax payer will do it for him . That's fair .

Now there's a group of young men who would be better of just having a wank.

This is a liberal youth wing with no power and little influence, I wouldn't worry about it!

These are proposals, that's all. Not 'laws'. They'll never be enacted.

This is more MRA bullshit isn't it.
Ignore!

I'll cling to the idea that there's sense behind this, and by making these three proposals at the same time (offspring-opt-out, incest, necrophilia) this group are actually trying to point out how wrong it is for men to not take responsibility for their own contraception.
