Petition

Women in the UK must be free to work, travel and live free of sexual violence

Recently, women across the EU were subjected to mass sexual assaults of a type previously unknown in Europe. We demand that Government brings forward proposals for extra measures to uphold UK women's rights, safety & freedom, and to expand police understanding-recognition-response to such behaviour.

Thank you for starting the new thread.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3435772/Former-commander-French-Foreign-Legion-75-arrested-Pegida-protest-Calais.html

This is interesting - not only in the sense that the banners held by protestors in Birmingham yesterday echoed our concerns wrt women's rights - but this man in particular.

I have a lot of experience with Legion Etrangere - French nationals only can hold senior officer posts (as this man did) - but of course the very ethos of the FFL is that anyone of any nationality is welcome (assuming you make selection) - your culture/race is left at the door of the farm. For your minimum 5 year term you are French. That is integration. Interestingly, the FFL until quite recently gave exactly no* fucks if you'd entered the country illegally to enlist.

Of course this man will have served (often used as French cannon fodder...) in less than desirable places to visit - a lot of training is done in Dijbouti for example. He knows what will be brought.

It is disturbing however that only the "far right" are prepared to talk about these issues.

*They took in a lot of Nazi war criminals. :(

Jan put it brilliantly at the end of the last thread when she posted:

"I know I am not the only one who has said, or at the very least implied, that sexual assaults are carried out by men of all clolours, religions (and none) and classes. It's not 'just an islamic thing' - you'd have to be a total loon to think that. "

www.express.co.uk/news/world/641514/MAPPED-How-sex-attacks-are-spreading-across-Sweden-as-police-struggle-with-migrant-crime

Just to reiterate, my concern and anger is in regard to the refusal of politicians (especially Labour) and mainstream media to address the specific issue of male migrant sexual violence against European women out of misguided political correctness. I don't think all migrants do this (of course not) but it is a fact that the incidence of rape and sexual violence committed by migrant men is significant and real.

I think we can all agree that sexual violence must be addressed urgently. However, where necessary contextual factors such as mass migration by lone men needs to be explored, analysed discussed and dealt with. Not half-heartedly but clearly and firmly. NO more hand ringing or we will see me right-wind action on Europe' street, something I would be very afraid of.

All people will suffer as a result of governments and the EU commission not addressing crime in the context of migration. It is a specific context and needs to be handled as such. PC glasses need to be taken off and rule and order reestablished.

This needs to be death with by politicians, civil society and mainstream media (yes, you BBC, and you Guardian!! Telegraph are doing ok, shan't mention Daily fail, we are all guilty of it)

NHS ..... I have no idea why I am being called a liar about the recent change in Dept of Health statement about eligibility for EU passport holders.. The 6 month qualifying period is no longer required. Read it here.

'Where is the soft response?'

Letting them flood across Europe by the million with no respect for national boundaries or security.

HTH.

I take it you've missed the resurrection of barbed wire fences then, restrictions on numbers, refusals to meet quotas, detainments in detention centres?

'I take it you've missed the resurrection of barbed wire fences then, restrictions on numbers, refusals to meet quotas, detainments in detention centres?'

I take it you've heard the expression 'closing the stable door after the horse has bolted'? Tens of thousands are still entering Europe every month - in winter! - so the response is clearly not a sufficient deterrent.

Report
emilybohemia · 08/02/2016 20:52

I'm glad it's not a deterrent. I'd rather not deter people leaving war zones, although in truth you're wrong. Many people are stuck at the Turkish border right now. I'm sure some will be deterred by being beaten with sticks back into Syria though.

Have you not wondered why they are entering Europe 'in winter!' Clearly not for a holiday

emily I wonder how much longer you can keep conflating the economic migrants and the real refugees and how many times you ignore that nearly every poster on these threads has always said the genuine refugees need help.

then you come back with " but they are all fleeing war zones.

which simply isn't true but you - in spite of declaring many times you know nothing about this whole subject....keep on declaring?

its bizarre, like your having a conversation with yourself almost ?

its a really complicated situation but the answer is not to allow every person in transit across the ME and Europe into the UK or Europe! and the reasons for this, the humanitarian reasons for this have also been clearly stated over and over again.

'Letting them flood across Europe by the million with no respect for national boundaries or security'.

Onewing didn't specify. I assumed they meant refugees, although it's clearly deluded to think economic migrants are wandering freely willy nilly en masse in Europe either.

The majority are fleeing war zones, some may be seeking a better life. Noone has suggested we allow everyone into Europe. Poorly substantiated claptrap and hate ash been stated over and over again, yes. As for humanitarian reasons for not allowing people into Europe, what are they?

'although it's clearly deluded to think economic migrants are wandering freely willy nilly en masse in Europe either.'

The only people who are deluded are those who don't think it's happening.

'Noone has suggested we allow everyone into Europe.'

Give me any situation, or any figure, above which you would turn a migrant away if they claimed to be in need. There isn't one, is there?

'As for humanitarian reasons for not allowing people into Europe, what are they?'

For the last year, 0.5% of all those who made the sea-crossing to Europe died. By encouraging the migrants to come, the bleeding hearts are accepting those deaths as the price of their virtue-signalling.

Interesting that the Independent doesnt mention that this is a gang of Pakistani men grooming white girls. The DM isnt afraid to print the inconvenient truth though, good on them. never thought i would say that.

Hello, just reviving this thread to add my reply to my MP's response to my original email.

Dear XXXXXXX

Thank you very much for both your email response and your written response to my email expressing concerns about the safety of women in Europe following events in Cologne. Thank you too for passing my concerns on to Karen Bradley MP and for her response. I will respond to her separately.

Sadly, I am concerned that the issues I outlined in my original email to you are still not being discussed openly. Such is the fear of being called a racist, it is effectively silencing debate about real dangers facing all European women and children. I cannot fathom why cultural change, for the worse, is being forced upon us and I am angry about it. This is tantamount to the wilful destruction of our civilised society.

Integration may be the current buzz word for Ministers and the police however I am sceptical about the efficacy of any attempts to integrate MENA males into our society. They have been raised from birth to view women as inferior and dispensable. I have travelled extensively in these regions and have witnessed firsthand the treatment of women (white women) in their culture. I was groped and molested on an almost daily basis and was very grateful to have the choice to leave and return to the UK. By importing this misogyny into my country, where am I expected to go in order to be safe? I honestly believe any attempts to re-educate or enlighten these men will fail. Would you, after attending a few sessions laid on by a generous MENA host country, start to agree that child marriage, FGM and the wearing of a burka were all reasonable and fair societal norms?

David Cameron's policy of taking the most vulnerable directly from the refugee camps is a good policy. However, as you are aware, once passports have been issued in other EU countries, we cannot stop the passport holders from coming to live in the UK. With Turkey set to join the EU, that’s another 80 million people potentially coming here, over 99% of them Muslim. How can the police and Government , who have often been complicit in covering up rape by members of certain cultural groups, even begin to claim our safety isn’t compromised? The only solution is to keep our borders very tightly closed to men of MENA origin and the only effective way we can control our borders is by the leaving the EU. Hence so I will be voting to leave on 23rd June 2016. I hope you support a majority of your electorate here in XXX and join the Leave campaign too.

Many thanks for reading this.

Best regards

Anna

I was accosted by migrant men when in Tours recently. I was parking my car, alone, and there was one peeing in the street right by the car, he apologised as I was dragging my suitcase out the car, and then asked me for money. It was dark, and it was disconcerting to say the least. Later on I was going to meet a friend, around 6.30 pm and on the way there I needed to pass through a literal barrage of migrant men whistling, jabbing and demanding money. I was alone, and again completely horrified. Sorry - that is simply not the behaviour expected in France. I have spent a lot of time there, and whilst French men can wolf whistle and be flirty this was harassment and calculated to make women feel uncomfortable. It was only 6.30pm but dark - I went home early after seeing my friend and was glad to get home again to the UK - only a small experience but not nice. A friend lives in Frankfurt - it is much worse over there, with human poos in front yards, and women don't go out after dark. That is simply not normal European life and is unacceptable.
