Oh my God! this is awful. A boy was stabbed today at a school just outside Aberdeen. Reports say he was only 15. Now twitter is saying he has died.

Cults academy.

MrsBalustradeLanyard Wed 28-Oct-15 16:30:19

Just saw it on BBC News. They just said it was an 'incident.' And a second boy has been detained.

How bloody awful. sad

How horrible. Can't even begin to imagine how his family are feeling.

Scarydinosaurs Wed 28-Oct-15 16:31:14

So young. How dreadful for all involved.

var123 Wed 28-Oct-15 16:38:57

I know this doesn't change anything at all, but Cults is out in Royal Deeside, near Balmoral. Its an upmarket area, the sort of place the oil execs live in.

var123 Wed 28-Oct-15 16:40:07

The poor parents. I can't imagine getting that news.

flustercuck Wed 28-Oct-15 17:52:05

It is over an hour's drive from Balmoral.

My brother was there today, horrific.

flustercuck Wed 28-Oct-15 17:59:14

It's like saying an incident in South Croydon happened near Buckingham Palace. The area the school is in is lovely but not exclusively upmarket. The catchment area for the school covers a huge area, some parts most certainly not upmarket.

Feel very sorry for the parents.

Noeuf Wed 28-Oct-15 18:03:47

Sorry, are we gauging how sad we feel by how middle class or otherwise the parents are?
hmm

Fabellini Wed 28-Oct-15 18:04:41

Heard about this on the local news. A 16 years old boy was stabbed and has since died in hospital, and another 16 year old boy has been charged with murder. Such a dreadfully sad situation - two lives gone really.

var123 Wed 28-Oct-15 18:05:24

No, definitely not. Just shocked.

Sparklingbrook Wed 28-Oct-15 18:06:08

Those poor parents. I have a 16 year old DS myself who goes off to school every day. Just awful. sad

OneHandFlapping Wed 28-Oct-15 18:06:13

Noeuf not how sad, but perhaps how surprised.

var123 Wed 28-Oct-15 18:09:55

Where did the knife come from? Did the other boy bring it into school this morning? Or was it from the DT dept, or similar?

Helmetbymidnight Wed 28-Oct-15 18:10:49

It's terribly sad- just looking at Ds 15- doesn't bear thinking about.

Poor family.
And oh dear, the parents of the other boys family. The repercussions will be felt far and wide.

M4blues Wed 28-Oct-15 18:10:59

My thoughts are with his parents and other close family and friends. The HT just described him as gentle and caring. What a needless waste of life. sad

Sparklingbrook Wed 28-Oct-15 18:11:32

And his picture is plastered all over the news already. sad

var123 Wed 28-Oct-15 18:11:52

Sparklingbrook - that's what I keep thinking. Imagine getting a phone call at lunchtime and by the end of the afternoon your child is dead?

Varya Wed 28-Oct-15 18:12:24

Horrific. RIP for the victim, goodness knows for the killer.

Sparklingbrook Wed 28-Oct-15 18:14:35

Yes var. I drop DS at the bus stop every morning and off he goes. It doesn't cross my mind that he may not come back. Not from school. sad

ThomasRichard Wed 28-Oct-15 18:15:09

I really hope none of his family are finding out over the Internet or TV.

AuntieStella Wed 28-Oct-15 18:21:07

His name is Bailey Gwynne.

And the investigation is a murder enquiry.

So sad for all involved.

coffeeisnectar Wed 28-Oct-15 18:24:39

Absolutely tragic waste of life. My thoughts go to his family, loved ones and friends.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler Wed 28-Oct-15 18:26:30

Dreadful news sad.

I also have two teenage DSs, one at college and one at school. We know, and to some degree accept, that this can be a dangerous world but at school? No, we expect them to be safe at school & come home each day.

Horrific day. I'm so sorry for the poor young man & his parents. And also the other children who may have witnessed their friend's murder.

flustercuck Wed 28-Oct-15 18:26:49

The name of the guy rumoured to have been arrested is known locally also. His family will already be known to the police before today, apparently.

Horrible.
