why cant they keep them in jail???

NatalieJane · 07/11/2006 09:25

I really think the best thing to do with them would be to stick every single last one of them on a remote island somewhere, it would be easier to secure a island than it is to make any real attempt at checking them out after release.

I am all for once someone has served their time, they have repayed their debt to society etc. etc. but these type of people should never be trusted around children - not even one child - ever again IMO.

very true natalie. let's hope john reid kicks some ass with the probation service, which i think he will. he has made it clear he will not tolerate paedophiles re offending.

i am sorry but that report on tv last night was a TOATAL LOAD OF CRAP SCAREMONEGINRG

they obv had NO idea what supervision means adn imo its a total atempt to make the probation service look bad so that they can privatise them ( as is suggested)

t he probation servce is incrasingly being asked to act as jailors for these offenders r ahter than their trad role as rehabilitators and it STINKS

they do a generalyl fab job on hardly ANY money

TheHighwayCod · 07/11/2006 09:35

and after all they ere recalled to prison as it was
god i haet journalism like this

Tommy · 07/11/2006 09:35

agree cod

Tommy · 07/11/2006 09:38

we have a bail hostel near our school and the manager came to our last Governors' meeting to explain what went on there and to reassure anyone concerned about this sort of thing - this will have blown it all out of proportion again

theunknownrebelbang · 07/11/2006 18:35

Ah, the meeeja at its best I guess.

One of those mentioned in the article had spent 39yrs in jail.....so I think we could safely say he's served his sentence.

Yet another media story I'll be taking little, if any, real notice of, the greatest risk of abuse towards my children is from people I know, friends and family.
