She even had the recption. At least the have cancelled the honeymoon!!!

I gather it was an easy birth, but even so, wasn't she worried about the baby being born so early? And to leave the baby just 4 hours after birth - I couldn't have done it.

Going to see her this weekend, so I can give you a better idea next week. Last I heard, she was getting some memory back and talking less gibberish

"Mrs Agar, who is now back in St Michael's hospital"

no surprise there!

obviously losing the money they'd spent on the wedding would have been more unbearable than leaving their premature son!

I couldn't have left my baby so soon after giving birth - I know with preemies you do have to go home sometimes, as they can be in for months - but not four hours later...And in the newspaper (the Torygraph, so it must be true - have been buying it for the Roald Dahl tokens) it said she stayed at the reception til 10pm No, I couldn't have done it.

Oh don't be too hard on her; she didn't go on the honeymoon.

Some people react to things by blanking them out. Perhaps carrying on as normal with her day was their way of coping with it all.

Perhaps she was in psychological shock?

Perhaps she is a selfish bitch?

We will probably never know.

I just couldnt have done that..especially so prem what would she have done if something had happened to the baby.

Give the poor woman a break. Does it really matter? I hardly saw anything of my LO the first day of her life & I was in the hospital!

I couldn't have done it

My god, wild horses wouldn't have dragged me from ds when he was born and he was late 'n' sturdy.

To be fair though, perhaps she was just in some sort of shock/denial.... or something. Most odd though.

The baby was less than 2lbs - must surely have needed to be in SCBU. Why didn't she (and her husband) just want to be with him? Is a wedding really more important? And it wasn't just the wedding - she left to get to an 11am hair appintment, some 5 hours before the wedding, then went on to the reception afterwards!

If my baby had been born 3 months early, so tiny and frail, there is no way I would willing go out and be away from the child!

Hmmm,,,no doubt selling her story afterwards might have helped

Report
hulababy · 28/09/2006 21:35

I hope it was shock/denial...but...would she then go on to sell her story and have it plastered all over the media? Once the shock had worn off, would she not then feel a bit bad about it rather than wanting the world to know?
