Am I the only one who is a bit Hmm at the two men accused of murdering Lee Rigby pleading not guilty? Are there not rather a lot of eye witnesses, some of who filmed the incident? And how can they possibly expect a fair trial in front of a jury?

Maybe that's the point? With the fair jury I mean. Couldn't they claim that for a mistrial or something?

I wondered how they could possibly plead not guilty when I heard that today too. I mean - there's video evidence!! Confused And weren't they arrested at the scene? What the hell will their defence be based on?

Are they pleading manslaughter on spurious grounds?

It wasn't then! They were told to do it... Voices....are they pushing mental health issues?

Why would they plead guilty? This way they get their day in court with te ensuing hoohaar and get to keep this whole thing going and going, costing megabucks and more pain to Lee Rigsby's family.

They are pleading "Not Guilty" because they will then have a full trial, with intense media interest.

It's the publicity and the platform from which to preach their beliefs that is important.

why would anyone be surprised at anything they say? they are brazen enough to kill someone in broad daylight and then lecture us about it.

To be guilty of murder the killing has to be 'unlawful', ie without lawful justification or excuse. At a guess I suspect that they are pleading not guilty on the basis that they were justified in what they did.

Tanith is correct! they are going for maximum publicity.

Personally I think they should be told to sod off with their stupid name changes unless they have already changed them legally. Refer to them by their birth names and give as little media coverage until the verdict as possible. They are obviously guilty of killing him ....get it to the verdict with little publicity and then lock the bastards up for life.

Innocent until proven guilty my arse....loads of witnesses and they are in camera bragging about it afterwards.
